Subject: Mc Donalds and The American Beef

Author:
HRC

Date Posted: Tuesday, September 22, 01:25:pm

THIS IS A GOOD DECENT MAN WHO TOOK THE TIME TO WRITE THIS AND: HE SIGNED THE
STATEMENT AND: INCLUDED HIS CONTACT INFO:

READ ON

I'm sure those of you who aren't in the cattle business don't understand the
issues here. But to those of us
whose living depends on the cattle market, selling cattle, raising the best
beef possible... This is frustrating.
This will keep us from ever stopping there again, even for a drink.
The original message is from the Texas Cattle Feeders Association
American cattle producers are very passionate about this.

McDonald's claims that there is not enough beef in the USA to support their
restaurants. Well, we know that is not so. Our opinion is they are looking
to save money at our expense. The sad thing of it is that the people of the
USA are the ones who made McDonald's successful in the first place, but we
are not good enough to provide beef.

We personally are no longer eating at McDonald's, which I am sure does not
make an impact, but if we pass this around maybe there will be an impact
felt.

All Americans that sell cows at a livestock auction barn had to sign a paper
stating that we do NOT EVER feed our cows any part of another cow. South
Americans are not required to do this as of yet.

McDonald's has announced that they are going to start importing much of
their beef from South America . The problem is that South Americans aren't
under the same regulations as American beef producers, and the regulations
they have are loosely controlled.

They can spray numerous pesticides on their pastures that have been banned
here at home because of residues found in the beef. They can also use
various hormones and growth regulators that we can't. The American public
needs to be aware of this problem and that they may be putting themselves at
risk from now on by eating at good old McDonald's..

American ranchers raise the highest quality beef in the world and this is
what Americans deserve to eat. Not beef from countries where quality is
loosely controlled. Therefore, I am proposing a boycott of
McDonald's until they see the light.

I'm sorry but everything is not always about the bottom line, and when it
comes to jeopardizing my family's health, that is where I draw the line.

I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at
least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ...
and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so
on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will
have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you? Acting
together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on..

Niftee 50ees Classic Drive In
By: Randy Shannon

All of us at Niftee 50ees hope everyone had a good Labor Day weekend holiday!

The afternoon showers came and went leaving us with a cool evening for all the rodders that came and stayed to enjoy another Saturday night at the Niftee 50ees Classic Drive In.

Thanks for your attendance although many did get wet as the showers blessed us at the very beginning and ultimately affected our attendance somewhat.

This weekend the weather looks like rain on Saturday and our show will be pending the forecast as we head into the Saturday and Sunday.

Please keep checking our web site main page for updates on the "Ticker Tape Scroll" for changes in show status. Everything looks "Iffy" for now and will await to see if the rains come early, late, or all day status.

The Ainsley Court assisted living car show for Sunday is pending also with the weather conditions for Sunday.

We have had only 2 R.S.V.P.'s acknowledging their intended attendance for this Sunday which will be decided by forecast.

Kathy in Distress

A few weeks back we sent out a plea for help with Kathy's request to find the owner of the car below. She lost his number and if anyone knows who owns this car, please contact Kathy at the number below.

An updated letter reveals to us that any 50's style cruiser would work just fine that maybe would be Turquoise, Black and White, or Silver.

She is willing to pay $70.00 an hour and will need to this car to escort newly weds to and from the wedding. The date is October 10, 2009.

If someone can help locate this person or would like to offer assistance with her plea, than please contact her very soon!

Randy, Here’s a picture of the car. I talked to it’s owner at the 7/25 Astros game, but lost his number. We wanted him to drive us for 2 hours on Saturday 10/3 for our wedding (all within Houston). But if there’s another car like it that you’d recommend w/ a teal/turquoise color, I’d love to talk to that guy.

Thanks so much for your help!

Randy, Thanks for taking a minute to help me…I really appreciate it! I was trying to reach the owner of Teal/turquoise Chevy (I believe a 55 or 54). I believe his name Art. I talked to him at the Astros game on 7/25 and lost his phone #. I was asking him about driving us around on 10/3.

Thanks,

Space City Cruisers News Letter 09-09-09
By: Bob Wright

Thank you Jerry Barnett for sending a write up and pictures of the Alvin
car and bike show last Saturday!
I put a piece in this news letter on flying our American flag this Friday
September 11th in memory of all the folks who lost their lives 9/11/01.
Also, a video was sent to me to pass on to y'all, in hopes of saving
lives on our highways while texting or talking on a cell phone. I have
a few words of my own before watching this very graphic video.
With this in mind, please drive responsively, and safe cruisin' everyone!

Alvin/Manvel Chamber Car Show Sat. Sept. 5th.

Alvin/Manvel Chamber of Commerce Route 6 Rendezvous Car & Bike Show
was a big success last Saturday. At final count 122 cars and bikes
entered the show. In spite of a weather forecast that called for 50%
chance of rain, the threat never materialized and everyone enjoyed a
great day. Brad Richards and Connie Elies did an excellent job of
putting this event together and are to be commended for making this
event one of the premier car shows in the area. The feedback I got from
participants was 100% positive and I heard several comments about how
much everyone enjoys Alvin car shows in National Oak Park. The next
major car and bike show will be the Alvin Rotary Club's Novemberfest Car
& Bike Show in National Oak Park on November 14th. We hope to see you
all there! I have uploaded photographs of this event and the Rotary

FLY THE AMERICAN FLAG
On Friday, September 11th. 2009, an American flag should be displayed
outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States.
Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on
this eighth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do
this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families,
friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who
today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed
in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood
shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all
but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and
it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our
American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail
over terrorism of all kinds.

TEXTING WHILE DRIVING
I think that this is an appropriate Video put together by the British Government and it is a shame that people do not take this as seriously as they should even here in the USA. Anything that distracts you from driving can cause the same consequences texting or using a cell phone. I wish EVERYONE could view a video of themselves on a cell phone from behind, they wouldn't believe it was them, weaving in and out of their own lane, slowing down then speeding up, or just set at a green light until someone blows their horn. Please take the time to send this video to a friend, daughter, son, or any family member. Hugging a casket for one day, is nothing like
hugging a real live love one everyday!!!

Niftee 50ees Classic Drive In
By: Randy Shannon

The weather this past weekend gave us a small hint of cooler days ahead as classic car owners and street rodders poured into Niftee 50ees Classic Drive In for yet another exciting night of Saturday night cruise ins!

Again, many visitors from out of town and out of state were on hand to witness the event. A special note of visitors from Michigan, Georgia, and Canada who had heard about our event and wanted to stop buy and see the awesome display of classic cars.

Dennis Taylor from Big Boys Toys from the Lufkin-Nacogdoches area was present along with friends for a Saturday night visit.

We hope to see everyone this Saturday night as the fun continues and the rains don't come.

Other info

We receive emails and phone calls all during the week asking for car shows and events. Also fan letters and special interest groups from all across the USA!

Recently, we were contacted by Galynn Ferris from MercuryLand .com with information on Classic Mercurys. They are located in Nebraska.

It's always good to see these people and the smiles that appear on their faces when they hear that Niftee 50ees is coming.

It's rewarding to be able to give these folks a good time and a simple back in time feeling that so quickly passes us all.

Dear Niftee50ees Leaders (Randy and Molly),

My name is Mike Ayers and I am pastor of The Brook Church in Northwest Houston. Our church has just moved into our new building and we are having a celebration day on Sunday, Sept. 13.

It is our desire to have a “tailgate party” atmosphere on our church parking

lot that day. We’ll have hot dogs, moon jumps for the kids, balloons, etc... lots of fun.

I'm writing to ask if you could help. We would LOVE to have some classic cars in the parking lot that day that our people could admire during this celebration.

I wanted to know if any of your club members could come out from 10:30am

(service ends at 10:30am) to about 1:00pm and let us see their vehicles.

We have many admirers in our church of classic cars and this

would be a wonderful addition to our day... as well as give your folks an opportunity to showcase their wonderful cars.

As I said, we are in Northwest Houston at Hwy. 249 and Spring Cypress Road.

We’ll provide lunch for all your folks who come. We hope to have about 15 classic cars if possible. Of course, all are welcome to church that day as well.

If you need any more information or have questions, please email or call me at 281.687.8356 (my cell).

I appreciate your help.

Space City Cruisers News
By: Bob Wright

Like most folks out there, I've been staying kinda close to the house with this scorching weather that we have been experience through out our summer months.

Relief is on the way with a touch of some cooler breezes that were felt this last weekend, "not that you had to put on a jacket", but a little bit cooler then it has been.

As most, this is what I've been waiting for, sure will be nice to get out rejoin the crowds, and start taking some pictures of you fine folks and your rides.

With that in mind, I have a couple of car shows and the START UP of Chick-Fil-A in Kemah below, for this up coming weekend. If the weather continues to please me, the vet and I will try to make a Cruise or two and the Alvin show this Saturday.

Sweeny Lions car show puts on a nice car show just like Alvin, but I'm going to stick close to home, with Alvin being adjacent to God's Country!!!

Y'all be good, and safe cruisin', wherever you decide to cruise too. Also keep in mind that the new Texas Driving Laws go into effect TODAY TUESDAY SEPT. 1ST.
I've included a link to click on, for a quick look at these new laws.

START UP
Chick-Fil-A Cruise Night In Kemah (Sept. 5th. 6 to 10)

Mike & Ben Miller (Mustang Folks) of the Space City Cruiser have been in touch with management of Home Depot & Chick-Fil-A. Chick-Fil-A management wants to kick off bringing back the Classic cars to Chick-Fil-A parking lot this Saturday night Sept. 5th. from 6 to 10 PM. Mike & Ben & the management of Chick-Fil-A said that they would be there the first couple of Saturdays to show everyone where they can and can not park. "Target's Parking Lot is OFF LIMITS". Let me also make it perfectly clear that Space City Cruisers Car Club of League City has no affiliation with Chick-Fil-A or Home Depot in Kemah. Mike & Ben Miller know that a lot of you were very disappointed when Target shut down the Cruise Night at the beginning of this year. With that, they both have had phone and e-mail conversations with Chick-Fil-A & Home Depot in bringing back the cruise nights in Kemah. Below is an e-mail from Kelly Gilson Unit Marketing Director of Chick-fil-A. If you have any questions or want to help please contact Mike or Ben at bmm08@yahoo.com .

World Famous stunt man, Dr. Danger, to perform at Houston Raceway Park’s Speedway

HRP Communications Dept.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: World Famous stunt man, Dr. Danger, to perform at Houston Raceway Park’s Speedway
“Lights, Camera, Action,” will definitely have meaning next Saturday, August 22nd, at Houston Raceway Park’s Speedway. World famous stunt man, Dr. Danger, has been tapped to perform one of his popular dare-devil stunts at the Sunbelt Rentals SUPR Late Model Shootout. It’s also Military Appreciation Day and race officials expect a record setting salute honoring the men and women who serve our country.

Dr. Danger’s addition to the event schedule will certainly make for an unforgettable evening and a must see for the entire family. The Speedway infield will come to life as Dr. Danger performs several of his popular fiery stunts. The infield entertainment will compliment a full night of on track racing action in the SUPR Late Model Series, the Baytown Ford Thunder Bombers, and Classic Dwarf classes. One lucky race fan will win the role as Honorary Starter for the night and get the opportunity to wave the green flag in the flag stand for the SUPR Late Model A-Main feature.

“This event is about freedom and recognizing the sacrifices so many of our friends and family members have made for our independence, “said Fern Davis, HRP’s Director of Business Development. “For us racing symbolizes freedom and we could not think of a better stage than the race track to recognize our heroes.”

A limited amount of complimentary tickets are still available by calling the Houston Raceway Park Box Office at (281) 383-RACE (7223). Tickets may also be purchased at the Speedway Box Office on race day for $18 or just $10 for juniors and seniors. All active or retired Military personnel will get in for FREE. Spectator gates open at 6:00pm with racing beginning at 7:00pm. Event parking is $10 per car.

The Speedway at Houston Raceway Park consists of a professional-level quarter-mile high-banked dirt oval on its 450 acre site. With permanent seating for 8,000 fans, luxury corporate suites, and on-site parking for all of its events, the facility is one of the premier dirt racing destinations in the south.

Houston Raceway Park is located 25 miles east of downtown Houston off Interstate-10. Take Exit #799 (SH 99 Grand Parkway) and go South to FM 565 (1st exit). Take a right at FM 565 and Houston Raceway Park is located on your right side. The Speedway entrance is located at Gate 3.

Niftee 50ees
Classic Cruise News!
August 5, 2009
By: Randy Shannon

Rodders kicked off August in style.
The night was filled with beautiful classics, 50ees hotrods and those ever so neat early rods.

The Cobras were out in force and making their presence known by rumblin' in at Niftee 50ees Classic Drive In.

One notable presence was the 1957 Buick 2 Door hard top which was absolutely beautiful and we missed the owner after spotting the car and as crazy as it was, we missed getting a photo.

We hope the owner will return so we may get a few shots of this beautiful Buick!

Thanks for attending everyone!

Another Short News Letter!
Well it Looks Like the folks on the west side of Houston have a NEW place too go or close to their home to show off their pride and joy to the public of classic car enthusiast. Jim Meader sent me a short e-mail on how things went last Saturday (see below). The Hooters at I-45 & FM 517 is still going on at full swing for those of you south of Houston. Niftee50ees is always at full swing on the north side of Houston, but if you would like to see any other cruise nights that might be in your area, please go to Space City Cruisers Calendar of Events Page. Before you venture out to any of these cruise nights, contact the cruise location to make sure it is still being patronized!!! Besides just Cruise Nights, we have quite a few car shows this weekend (that is below also).
Safe Cruisin', & y'all be good.

Bob

Note From Jim Meader

Good Morning Bob-- I just wanted to say thanks for the Help promoting the West side event at the Flying J Truck Stop in Brook Shire. We had over 30 cars show up and every one was very positive about the event growing each week. We had the local Fire Dept there helping park the cars and also Waller County sheriff Dept and the local Brookshire Police there admiring all the cars and meeting the people. They are very positive about supporting the event and helping to make it grow into a large weekly community event. We had a nice meal in the restaurant and enjoyed the fine facility we have been invited to use each week. We look forward to seeing everyone from the West side come by and check us out. Hope to see you all soon.

Before we go..

Fifteen (15) weeks left for the Niftee 50ees Classic Drive In.

We will be completing year five at Kroger's as of November 14, 2009 and seven years of classic car shows for our Classic Car and Street Rodders throughout the community at various locations over the past years.

Our continued efforts will be determined by our ability to maintain weekly events as we have known and the desire of our supporting participants that have been faithful and supportive during all of our events.

To those of you who have been loyal and supportive we can't say how appreciative we are. Without your support we would not exist.

The same goes to our volunteer staff who have worked so hard to keep the shows running week after week.

Niftee 50ees was created to be a fun spot for our Classic Car enthusiasts as we have watched many come and go, some always there, new recruits, and some on occasion with their attendance.

We have listened to many with their praises and those not so praise worthy.

We have witnessed those that support us and those that don't.

We know many by name and some only by numbered vehicles.

All the same, we appreciate you the Niftee 50ees Classic Cruisers!

and Finally

From our email inbox we find a young lady in desperation to find one of our participants that attends our show.

To summarize the request, this person met the car owner in question at a Houston Astros ball game a couple of weeks ago and was asking a favor for a ride in a "Teal" colored 54 or 55 Chevy as she could not remember the exact car nor the name of the person since she misplaced the telephone number.

With all the email and phone numbers we receive, we will try to assist with what we can.

So, if you receive this newsletter and perhaps you are the mystery person, than please notify us so we may pass along the information to her.

Here is the letter..

Randy,

Thanks for taking a minute to help me…I really appreciate it!

I was trying to reach the owner of Teal / Turquoise Chevy (I believe a 55 or 54).

I believe his name was Art. I talked to him at the Astros game on 7/25 and lost his phone #. I was asking him about driving us around on 10/3.

He mentioned he attended the Niftee50ees shows and thought you might know who he was?

Thanks,

Kathy

Have a wonderful week and we hope to see you for the Double Header Weekend!

Happy Roddin!

Niftee50ees Classic Drive In (Review)
By: Randy Shannon

Niftee50ees Classic Cruisers sent the final weekend in July out in style. Hot Rods were rumblin' and roarin' Saturday night at the drive in.

There was the ever so slight chance of rain and it held off until end of the show. Enough drops fell to wet the windshields, then it was gone.

We need the rain, just not on Saturday night!

Thanks for braving the elements!

We wanted to thank the members of the Chevelle Club for coming out with their fine automobiles. Your attendance made the night extra special!

Also, we wanted to thank our visitors from Lufkin, TX. Dr. Charles Williams and family traveled far to attend the Niftee50ees Classic Drive In, in their beautiful black 1957 Chevy.

Each week, visitors from out of town are not uncommon with their attendance at Niftee50ees!

Space City Cruisers News!

Saturday July 25th.

"HOT""DAY"
Christmas In July Car & Motorcycle Show By The Santa Fe. Police Officers
Association was HOT but a satisfying success. Sgt. John Gates with the
Santa Fe. Police department headed up the show. With the little amount of
time he had, Sgt. Gates did one heck of a job in of bringing everything together
in one place. I know he had a lot of other volunteers, and with the short notice of
getting the word out about this show, the Space City Cruisers out did themselves.
Sgt. Gates would like to send his thanks out to all the Space City Cruisers that
came out of the woodwork to help him. Dee Wright for her help in adding up all the
scores from the cars & motorcycles. Brad Senter & Richard Williams who were
judging the cars and sending scores into Dee. Brad & Richard really were the
life savers, to battle that hot sun in a relentless pursuit of getting her done, for a
worthily cause. A big thank you to Jerry & Debbie Hutto for there donation of
the BBQ Grill in which the proceeds were split between the Santa Fe. Police &
the Blue Santa Program in League City. In all, I believe they had about 35 entries
in the show. You just have to be proud to belong to a club, like the Space City
Cruisers that leaves a good mark etched in the concrete wherever they go.
With that said, y'all have a great week, and safe cruisin'. Enjoy the pictures!

The Billetproof Show this last weekend was fantastic! Lots of low buck, hardcore rides with more style than you could shake a stick at. Suede paintjobs and “field fresh” rides parked right next to showstoppers that looked like they could have come right out of George Barris’ Garage. Only disappointment was the lack of food vendors and the burnout competition that was advertised but never manifested. Everything else was great! Lots of shade in the main hangout area where onsite pinstriping was going on, and lives bands were playing, and beer was being sold. Definitely not your average high school parking lot, sit in a lawn chair, drink dr. pepper and get sunburned kind of show. I will definitely be back next year. It only took about 2 hours to get to Giddings from Alvin driving 80mph in the ’53 Chevy.

Hooter's Saturday Night Cruise-In July 25th.

Week Thirteen -- Very hot as we set up, but after a cool off
and ice Tea in Hooter's, came back out to clouds and a very
pleasant breeze which made the night very comfortable.
Around Eight I did a quick count, 225+ vehicles were there
and more coming in. Thanks to the members of the Brazoria
Mopar Club for coming out. It was some of the members first
time to our cruise-in. Also, there were several cars there that
were first timers. We hope they enjoyed and will come back.
Next Saturday, Aug. 01, Hooter's is having a bike run. It is
from Hooter's to different Hooter's and I think a couple of Harley
dealers. David G. would like to have about 25 bikes start at
the Nasa Bay Hooter's (our Hooter's). David will have the wings
cooking for breakfast and would like everyone to be there 10:00
to 10:30 to get started. Also, David G. has got permission for
rods to be in the run. If you want more info, I have a general flyer
I can E-Mail to you, just E-mail me. ac-controls@sbcglobal.net
Keep it safe and hope to see all next week.

Before we go..

The past week around the home office has been a little crazy to say the least but, really not uncommon just a different challenge.

We are in the process of trying to upgrade our services for the Street Rodders and you may have gotten an alert of an address change.

Please bare with us during what appears is going to be a rather lengthy and taskful change!

Our old server is not keeping up with our growth demands and necessary updates to serve you and therefore we must move forward.

You can still reach us with the email you've all come to know and we should still receive it during the transactions.

We are however in a battle with our name and address spelling which is a technical and apparently a legal challenge.

For the time being please keep us informed with correspondence and or emails as you have in the past until we notify you of any additional changes during the change.

There are 1,863 subscribers to our newsletter and still growing with new sign ups which takes approximately two days to send out in bulk mail.

Our current provider services is not able to handle the volume and apparently not compatible with the demands of today.

So, we ask that you please bare with us until all matters are finalized.

In the meantime..

Happy Roddin!
