Subject: Safety Alert and some gasoline information

Author:
HRC
[Edit]

Date Posted: Friday, June 06, 06:21:am

Safety Alert:

Here's some reasons why we don't allow cell phones in operating areas, propylene oxide handling and storage area, propane, gas and diesel refueling areas.

The Shell Oil Company recently issued a warning after three incidents in which mobile phones ( cell phones ) ignited fumes during fueling operations

In the first case, the phone was placed on the car's trunk lid during fueling; it rang and the ensuing fire destroyed the car and the gasoline pump.

In the second, an individual

suffered severe burns to their face when fumes ignited as they answered a call while refueling their car!

And in the third, an individual suffered burns to the thigh and groin as fumes ignited when the phone, which was in their pocket, rang while they were fueling their car.

You should know that:
Mobile Phones can ignite fuel or fumes

Mobile phones that light up when switched on or when they ring release enough energy to provide a spark for ignition

Mobile phones should not be used in filling stations, or when fueling lawn mowers, boat, Etc.

Mobile phones should not be used, or should be turned off, around other materials that generate flammable or explosive fumes or dust, (i.e., solvents, chemicals, gases, grain dust, etc.)

To sum it up, here are the: Four Rules for Safe Refueling

1) Turn off engine
2) Don't smoke
3) Don't use your cell phone - leave it inside the vehicle or turn it off
4) Don't re-enter your vehicle during fueling

Bob Renkes of Petroleum Equipment Institute is working on a campaign to try and make people aware of fires as a result of 'static electricity' at gas pumps. His company has researched

150 cases of these fires.

His results were very surprising:
1) Out of 150 cases, almost all of them were women.
2) Almost all cases involved the person getting back in their vehicle while the nozzle was still pumping gas. When finished, they went back to pull the nozzle out and the fire started, as a result of static.
3) Most had on rubber-soled shoes.
4) Most men never get back in their vehicle until completely finished. This is why they are seldom involved in these types of fires.
5) Don't ever use cell phones when pumping gas
6) It is the vapors that come out of the gas that cause the fire, when connected with static charges.
7) There were 29 fires where the vehicle was re-entered and the nozzle was touched during refueling from a variety of makes and models. Some resulted in extensive damage to the vehicle, to the station, and to the customer.
8) Seventeen fires occurred before, during or immediately after the gas cap was removed and before fueling began.

Mr. Renkes stresses to NEVER get back into your vehicle while filling it with gas.

If you absolutely HAVE to get in your vehicle while the gas is pumping, make sure you get out, close the door TOUCHING THE METAL, before you ever pull the nozzle out. This way the static from your body will be discharged before you ever remove the nozzle.

As I mentioned earlier, The Petroleum Equipment Institute, along wi th several other companies now, are really trying to make the public aware of this danger. You can find out more information by going to Once here, click in the center of the screen where it says 'Stop Static'.

Subject: Buy American Gas
by: Jerry McCurry

WHERE TO BUY AMERICAN GASOLINE.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW.
READ ON.

Gas rationing in the 70's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even have been good for us!
Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products?

Shouldn't we return the favor?
Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit?

An appealing remedy might be to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up your car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just purchase gas from companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.
Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up my tank, I'm sending my money to people who I get the impression want me, my family and my friends dead. Don't you think it might be of interest to know which oil companies import Middle Eastern oil and which do not?

These companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell.................................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco....................144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil........................ 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway............. 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco.................................. 62,231,000 barrels

And CITGO oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly avows our economic destruction! (We pay Chavez's regime nearly $10 Billion per year in oil revenues!)

The U.S. currently imports 5,517,000 barrels of crude oil per day from OPEC. If you do the math at $95 per barrel, that's over $524 million PER DAY ($191 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members are our confirmed enemies!!!!!
Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Sunoco.........................0 barrels
Conoco.........................0 barrels
Sinclair..........................0 barrels
BP/Phillips....................0 barrels
Hess. ...........................0 barrels
ARCO...........................0 barrels
Maverick........................0 barrels
Flying J. ........................0 barrels
Valero.............................0 barrels

I AM GOING TO ADD THE FOLLOWING...
Murphy Oil USA sold at Wal-Mart is from South Arkansas USA
Not only that they give scholarships to all children in their town who finish high school and are legal US citizens.

All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy and each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

But to have a real impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers with the help of the internet, it's really simple to do. Now, don't wimp out at this point....keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at only ten more (30 x 10 = 300)....and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)....and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!!!!!!!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it...THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE-the entire population of the United States of America!!!!

Again, all you have to do is forward this message to 10 people. How long would that really take you? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people, within one day all 300 MILLION people could theoretically be contacted during the next eight days!

We hope this information can help you both for safety and consumption choices by all.

Subject: Being American. YOU CAN DO THIS AMERICA! Screw China

Author:
hrc
[Edit]

Date Posted: Saturday, May 10, 08:40:am

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear or is it that we just do not
think? While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior
products, dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets, the
media wrings its hands and criticizes the Bush Administration for
perceived errors. Yet 70% of Americans believe that the trading
privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended. Well, duh..why
do you need the government to suspend trading privileges? DO IT
YOURSELF!!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says
'Made in China' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply
choose another product or none at all. You will be amazed at how
dependent you are on Chinese products, however you will be equally
amazed at what you can do without. Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate
Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American
farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is.. do not wait for the
government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods,
that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!
The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from
having foreign stockpiles of inventory. ** Downside ??

The solution ?

Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. We will not
implement this UNTIL June 4, and we will only continue it until July 4.
That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese
for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they
will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance
and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, June 4 to July 4, and if it turns out interesting we can
arrange to do it to a few other nations that export moral turpitude
along with their goods. For goodness sakes, WWII was sixty two years
ago, its time they started to pull their own loads. They know how to
start wars, let them figure out how to stop them. Can you remember how
great it was back in the seventies before we started to export the
American dream?

Send this to everybody you know.

Show them we are Americans

and NOBODY can take us for granted.

If we can't live without cheap Chinese

goods for one month out of our lives,

WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!

Pass it on America !!!

Go to speedwaymotors.com and purchase a pair of motor mounts and a trans mount. These can bolt or weld in-your choice. You will need a V-8 Radiator and look on ebay.com for aluminum-there cheap and plenty of options available. If you havent converted to 12 volt you have to do that-Not hard and you will need to change all the bulbs in the car and if the heater still works you can use a volta drop to convert the 12 to 6volts for radio-heater.This is real easy conversion

Motor size wont have any effect on what transmission you have. Over drive just allows you to run less RPM on the hiway and would be more fuel efficient in most cases

Weather permitting Navasota Raceway will hold a two day event this coming weekend. The 26th will be for cars with racing slicks only and Sunday the 27 is for cars with street tires and any one else that chooses to get in some tune & test time. Many of the old racers have been going to the track on the weekend and cleaning it up after a several year shut down. According to the news we have there wont be any timing lights due to electrical problems but old fashion starts by flagmen or hand signals will determine starts. Any way you look at it, it should be fun for those who attend.

The lucky rod run was held Sunday, January 6 and the cars were filling up the parking places at 8:00 AM. By 9:30 AM the main parking was full and the back streets were starting to fill up. I believe this is the largest turn out in the history of this event. Our estimate was well over 500 cars and there were some streets we didn't have time to do a coverage. Two of us took photos for 3 hours or a total of 6 man hours with well over 500 pictures. Sunday evening we started edition the pictures and got 60 + hung on the photo gallery. We will do out best to get the rest hung up in a couple of days so check back often. As usual the food was good and the service fast at the Chicken Oil Company and Cody's BBQ and there was plenty of bench racing and story swapping. If you haven't been to this event you need to mark your calendar for the first Sunday after New Year's Day.

You may need more/less fuel when you take off and by going to the holley site you should be able to get specks from them. 35 Senators Voted Against English as America 's Official Language 25 May, 2007

Senators,
Your vote against an amendment to the Immigration Bill 1348, to make English America's official language is astounding.

On D-Day no less when we honor those that sacrificed in order to secure the bedrock character and principles of America. I can only surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens.

I don't much care where you come from, what your religion is, whether you're black, white or some other color, male or female, democrat, republican or independent, but I do care when you're a United States Senator, representing citizens of America and vote against English as the official language of the United Stat es.

Your vote reflects betrayal, political surrender, violates your pledge of allegiance, dishonors historical principle, rejects patriotism, borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator... impeachment, recall, or other appropriate action is warranted.

Worse yet, 4 of you voting against English as America 's official language are Presidential candidates: Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd, and Senator Obama.

Those 4 Senators vying to lead America but won't or don't have the courage to cast a vote in favor of English as America's official language when 91% of American citizens want English officially designated as our language.

This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as political hacks... unworthy as Senators and certainly unqua lified to serve as President of the United States.

If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a back-lash so stunning it will literally rock you out of your panties... and preferably, totally out of the United States Senate.

The entire immigration bill is a farce... your action only confirms this really isn't about America ; it's about self-serving politics... despicable at best.

Never argue with an idiot; they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." ~ anonymous

Vote NO Prop 12

PROPOSITION 12 - N0T WHAT IT APPEARS TO BE!!!!!

If you will remember back to 2001, a very innocent and innocuous sounding amendment was passed that brought us the Trans Texas Corridor, toll roads and all sorts of problems for landowners and communities along the corridor.

Well, folks, it's déjà vu all over again!

Proposition 12 on the November ballot has been carefully crafted to get Texans to vote for debt, future tax increases and toll roads paid for with our dollars. Don't be fooled!!!!

Proposition 12 is the largest proposed new debt on the ballot this year! It

would authorize up to $5 billion dollars of state road debt to be repaid with general revenue, instead of dedicated transportation funds. This is just one more accountability breach as TxDOT seeks to become an unaccountable taxing authority.

TxDOT says they're out of money, but they're spending billions of our tax dollars to shift our public highways to toll roads and push the unpopular Trans Texas Corridor down our throats.

The proposition passed in 2001 promised it would help solve our transportation crisis by establishing the Texas Mobility Fund. Texans trusted TxDOT and legislators voted for "mobility" by putting the proposition on the ballot. Much like this year's Proposition 12, the ballot

language did not openly inform voters that TxDOT would use Texas Mobility Funds exclusively to shift our freeways to toll ways. It took accountability and the will of the people right out of the equations so special interests can take our land and our roads for their own profit.

Proposition 12 would allow TxDOT to issue up to $5 billion in general obligation bonds for "highway improvement projects." They currently have the authority to issue up to $3 billion in bonds for this purpose. Now they

want more!!! The bonds cannot be used for new construction, but remember, THEY will not be doing any construction!!! Foreign entities and special interests will be spending their own money for that, and they, and they alone, will be reaping the rewards!

Don't be fooled again!!!! If you are against the Trans Texas Corridor and the land grab schemes of TxDOT, vote NO on Proposition 12!!! Early voting started Oct. 22nd, and election day is Nov. 6th. Don't let this one slip by like the other one did in 2001!

Subject: TRUTH ON JENA

Author:
Ed
[Edit]

Date Posted: Sunday, September 30, 10:15:am

I know you are hearing about the Jena 6 on TV and now in most newspapers.
Since this is happening only 13 miles from us, Jonesville is also feeling
the shock waves. The whole thing with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and the
liberal media is causing big problems. Jackson says he will have 40,000 at
a rally, so he has to be importing them. Well, I hope someone hears the
voice of sanity. Our friend, Alma did a good job of explaining 'the rest of
the story' and I thought you might be interested. LT

Ms. Malkin,
I am writing to you for this reason: I have listened to you on O'Reilly
and read your columns for the last few years, and have concluded that you
are the fairest newscaster in the media. As Paul Harvey would say, 'the rest
of the story' is about to break here in Louisiana, for we have a story that
is comparable in many ways to the Duke lacrosse scandal of 2006-2007.

Perhaps you have heard Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson speak about the 'Jena
6,' and the trials that they are facing. The 6 are charged with aggravated
assault against a young man who goes to school with them. The national news,
with their typical leftward slant, has discounted the crime and focused on
race, for the Jena 6 are black and their victim is white. The good people of
Jena, LaSalle Parish, and Louisiana have been vilified unjustly for months
as redneck racists, and they have had enough. They are trying to get people
to look at both sides of the issue, but so far, it is to no avail. May I tell you what happened?

For several weeks prior to the school attack, the six boys had been
'jumping' on lone white kids around and about town, with nothing done except
another page added to their rap sheets. As a group, they tried to crash a
private party, and young Justin Barker asked them to leave, for they were
there to start more fights. The law was called and the six were made to
leave.

The next week at school, they planned an attack on Barker. They waited for
him to go through a door, where one of six locked the door to keep teachers
from interfering. Another of the group hit Barker on the back of the head, a
sneak attack, and knocked him unconscious. While on the floor in an
unconscious state, the six proceeded to kick him in the head and all over
his body. Twenty or so students were witnesses and were able to identify the
thugs. Teachers were finally able to get to the young man separated from the
attackers, which most likely prevented his death. One teacher thought the
boy dead, since his pulse was so faint. He was taken by ambulance to the
local hospital, where the staff worked for three or four hours checking his
injuries, and basically saving his life.

The six students who attacked this one person, were arrested; one has had
his trial, where he was found guilty of the crime that he committed. Other
trials are upcoming. Charges have been reduced from attempted murder to
aggravated assault. What the national media fails to report is that the
convicted person, Mychal Bell, had already been convicted four times for
assault, but has had no punishment at any time.

The national media has had a field day with this story, for to them, it
casts a bad light on the South where they think everything is about race..
What they fail to report is that this attack was a sneak attack, unprovoked,
and planned, and six thugs jumped one lone kid. It was not just a
'schoolyard fight' as it is being portrayed in the media.

Jesse and Al cry for 'justice for the Jena six,' but what they really mean
is to let them escape any punishment for their actions in attacking the
Barker boy. You and I both know that actions have consequences, and if the
actions are criminal, the consequences will be serious..

There is a side to Jena that the media tends to overlook. When Katrina
destroyed New Orleans, all of our little towns in this part of the state
welcomed refugees from the floodwaters. The white churches in Jena fed,
clothed and sheltered 3,000 people, of whom 2,800 were black. No black
churches in Jena stepped up with offers to use their churches as shelters.
Were they prejudiced against their own people? Not long ago,Jason Hatcher, a
black athlete who went to school in Jena, went on to distinguish himself in
college and now plays for the Dallas Cowboys, was given his own special day
in the town, with all townspeople coming out to express their pride in this
young man. Racists do not behave in this manner, do they?

Jena is known far and wide as one the friendliest, best-places-to-live
sort of town, for people here have traditionally worked out their
differences to the betterment of the whole community. Turmoil has replaced
peacefulness, and local citizens are just plain fed up with the distortions
of the press and televised media. Every town has troublemakers, and through
the years, Jena has had its share, black and white, and they have been dealt
with and punished. This time it is black troublemakers who nearly killed a
high school student. If they are not punished, could not a logical person
assume that they would consider themselves above the law, and repeat their
beatings on other singled out students?

Here is something else that is not being reported: reliable street
information says that some or all of the Jena 6 are responsible for burning
down the high school, and will be charged with this crime once the assault
trials are over. Jesse and Al never mention that, do they.

Much to-do was made about the fact that the jury was all-white in the
first trial. What is not reported is that out of the pool called for jury
duty, not one black of the fifty selected showed up. The reason: the black
community is sick of the way these teenage hooligans have terrorized their
community with stealing, beatings, and intimidations, and refusing to serve
on the jury was their only hope to see that the perpetrators of countless
crimes would finally be held accountable.

It has gotten to the point that all Jena citizens, black and white, refuse
to be interviewed by anyone, for they are sick and tired of having comments
taken out of context, having statements of truth deleted from interviews
when they contradict what the media wants to say. Just like in the Duke
case, only one side is being presented, while the truth is being hidden. We
all saw how the Duke case was finally resolved, and when facts are used
rather than the hysterical rantings of Jackson and Sharpton, perhaps this
case can be resolved, too.

Another very important thing to remember is this: the US Justice
Department has investigated this case from all angles, and has found no
evidence of wrongdoing from any of the law enforcement officials involved.
The sheriff's department, the district attorney and the judge have all been
commended for their thoroughness and diligence in prosecuting this case. But
that is not good enough for Jesse and Al and their minions, who want every
charge thrown out because the Jena 6 are black.

We both know that the Jacksons and Sharptons of this world promote anger
and hatred; their goals are not to unify, but to divide people, and to
shakedown anyone for anything that they can get. Jackson is asking people to
descend on Jena the day of the sentencing of the first convicted student..
He says he expects 40,000, which is a bit far-fetched. Of course, if the
cameras and news people are there, 400 will be stretched to 40,000, and
Jesse, with his perpetual scowl, shall lead them- to where, I do not know.

The race mongers and outside media have wreaked havoc with this small
community with their distorted reporting. They conveniently keep overlooking
one fact: this should not be about black and white, it should be about right
and wrong. It is about six high school athletes who planned and executed a
sneak attack on one fellow student.

I apologize for the length of this letter, but this is not a sound byte
issue. The lives of people and a community are at stake, and the people of
Jena have had enough of being smeared on every news show across America.
They are working to get someone who is fair and balanced to present the true
story of injustice, and it is not the 'injustice' of charging six racist
athletes with brutally kicking an unconscious student, but the injustice
that a child was nearly killed, and that the race mongers want his attackers
set free without trials or judgments or punishments.

Sincerely,

Alma M. Womack
