Remember the same thing in Jamaica.
Used to put a bottle of Appleton Estate on the table with ice and 7up.
Good trick was to go ashore for a swim at the Mission, and come back without your towel but clutching a bottle.[had to have the 2nd steward in on that scam]
In those days you couldn't get Appleton's outside of the WI. Sometimes see the odd bottle in the Round House with a name on it.
Glad to say we can get it here. Still good stuff. Although it was better with a bottle in one hand and a dusky maiden in the other!!
