In reply to: Dennis McGuckin 's message, "Nautical Miles" on Sunday, May 11, 06:27:12pm

First of all many thanks to Dennis M for highlighting the subject of Nautical Miles & to Tom H for letting us know about the the web site for distances between ports.
I have almost completed a write up about my "Life & Travels" which of course includes my wonderful sea going days.
I have typed up about all my trips to sea having kept a list of all the ports that had visited & in the correct order but it often crossed my mind as to how I could find out about how many miles I had traveled, now thanks to you lads I am now able to find out.
After my sea going days I did even a lot more traveling on quite a few overseas contracts so I am now hoping there is a site were I can get air miles between countries & cities.
Once again lads many thanks for your info & as always a special thanks to Brian for this great web site because without him & people like him we wouldn't be able to get all the info we reqiure.
best wishes to all past & present seafareres
John Aspin (Ormesby- Middlesbrough)
