Date Posted: Sunday, February 17, 07:47:02am In reply to: Gus 's message, "Mad as hell and not gonna take any more" on Wednesday, February 06, 03:52:45pm Absolutely agree with all the comments on that issue, Im not saying our system is perfect in Australia but it is a damn site better than your system in England, we are still on the Westminster system here, but we have a lot more scrutiny here on the Candidates for Parliament and compulsory voting has made it very fair in which the Majority of the Country voted for our present Govt and we do know everybody voted.I truly think we are quite outspoken here in Australia too and so if the people think an issue is important we usually succeed in getting it to Parliament. I think too many people are apathetic at voting time in England with the attitude what can i do about it, well you can do something about things collectively and make your your Local member works hard for you. this is in no way criticism, just an observation of the way Poor old England has gone.
