Dont know about water not being able to flow up hill mate , i remember a time on the Eden [ Royal mail line ]we had our wind chute out my cabin mate had the bottom bunk we were off watch turned in , when this long lazy sea came along the ship,s side we took a lovely green one it hit him in his bunk and came right up through my mattress and washed our cabin out ,needless to say the old wind chute didn,t get to much use after that episode all the best Dave .
