Date Posted: Sunday, January 13, 05:20:46pm In reply to: Tracey Scully 's message, "Re: ex-pats" on Saturday, January 12, 09:59:30am I must put my two penny worth in here. As I live with pals who took me in when times were hard I thought I wouldn't be entitled to anything from the government re heating allowance. But-lo and behold-last December I got £200!!! So-£100 went to them as they pay the bills- and the £100 went into my Nationwide account which I'm using to save for a place. That way everyone was happy. Until next December (unless a place comes up in the meantime) I carry on as we agreed- I cook, clean, do the washing & ironing and that "earns my keep". I also buy food so I am not a sponger. They're good friends and don't want to abuse their kindness. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
