I remember people like you coming to Southport under supervision of the social services and the police. At least we knew how to wash and keep our noses clean,something you would not have learned in Toxteth. Shoplifting was your speciality even the salt from our cafes. As for sea service my six months at sea was very rewarding,it was with a crew of scousers many of whom had just been released from Gaol. To mix with that kind of dunnage was not what I was born into so I left. Went back to my loving and caring home and family never to soiled by these riff raff from the back streets of Liverpool again.
