Such a shame too because the air was nice and cool. Great weather for drag racing. Fast rides we saw out there was Henry Thomae, Ruben Ybarr and Charlie Deleon. Charlie did win the Mustang Mayham race last night. Congrats on that.

Been getting a lot of calls lately about some big storm brewin' out at the SPS/Area 51 Camp. Don't know exactly what they got going on or what they got cookin'. But I can only imagine it is going to be bad ass. But, in the mean time, while they are getting ready, some are already doin'....Last night, out of no where, Juan Molina pulls this bad sum'b!tch out of his trailer. Looks to be a C5 style Corvette with what sounds like a powerful big block under the hood. Don't know what it is supposed to run, but Juan's son, Juan Jr., told me...Keep an eye out for this one....The car is an absolute animal.

I know that Issac Ebrom, the track announcer and manager, talked to them (The Pinks Staff) and they wanted lots of money to come down here to tape a show. And the chase is on! A few weeks ago, the Ghost Team threw out a pass that let everyone know that they were not messing around. Everyone was confused. With a Mousestang, who do the Ford guys root for? Who do the Chevy guys root for? All you can do is take it for what it is and root for the Mousestang. Then came The Phenom. Ripping out a 8.35 pass. Giving the Ford dudes some hope that they would be coming out on top soon. Unfortunately, on the backup pass, The Phenom twisted the input shaft on the transmission and their quest for fame was over as soon as it began.

But what about the Chevy dudes? Certainly, no one out there in a Chevy can compete with a Mousestang, right? Word is, several Mousestangs are being built as we speak. Some figure, "If you can't beat'em, join'em". But hold on, as we all remember, Henry Thomae has been posting some pics of The Undertaker Chevelle getting some chassis work done. Yeah, no one seemed to care. Some said, there is no way that big heavy monster can compete. Oh yeah? Well, The Undertaker was out last night with it's new suspension work done and WATCHOUT!

Now known as THE GHOSTBUSTER, The Chevelle came out swinging hard. Making not one 8.30's pass, but coming back and backing it up with another 8.30's pass. All this with wheel spin, a little bit of side to side motion and letting off to a coasting 8.35 @ 150mph pass. Henry said a little more tuning on the suspension and THE GHOSTBUSTER Chevelle will be the first TDR TOP TEN ride in the 7 Second zone!!!.....I should mention that Henry's passes last night were in full TDR Rules trim. All you Mousestangs have now been warned. The big red taillights of THE GHOSTBUSTER will soon be in your view. Watch out Ghost Crew, cause THE GHOSTBUSTER Ain't afraid of no Ghost.

Despite it being a somewhat slow night last night at EIRT, the action was over the top. With Henry, Juan Molina, Bridgie, Mike & Juanio from Pro-Tech, 1320 Performance and Jason Cantu out there testing, we were more than entertained. There were a few rides out last night, but the ones that did come out put on a great show for the race fans. The track action video is absolutely packed with some awesome footage.

For tunes, I went ahead and threw in a couple of songs from the new Alice In Chains album, Black Give Way To Blue (2009), I hope you all enjoy it. For those of you that are Alice In Chains fans, I went ahead and uploaded the entire alblum to the TDR Music Jukebox. Give it a listen, it kicks ass. Had a great time at Palmfest in McAllen, today. I actually posted the wrong car show up...LOL! The one I posted earlier was for a lowrider show...haha. I don't do the lowrider scene dudes. Those guys are a trip. If you stare at their cars too long at the show, they will tell you, "What the fv*^ you looking at?"....LOL! Anyway, we ended up at Palmfest with a little of our cruise in friends. Spent the whole day listening to some cool music, checking out some sweet rides and talking shop with our friends. Got a couple of video's done tonight. First one is of what appeared to be a very fast Chevy truck doing some testing. Thing sounded like it had some kind of Pro-Stock motor in it. And with Sergio Garcia from SPS lining it up and Roy Perez, doing driving duties, it probably did. Unfortunately, something gave way in the steering and the track ended up coming to rest against the guard-rail on the opposite side. No worries though, Roy walked away fine and the truck did not appear to have any major damage. I uploaded this video to the TDR Video Channel on Youtube.

Our next video is the world famous Track Action video. This one is about 10 minutes long and is jammed packed with action. We have turbo cars, nitrous cars, Vipers, you name it. Be sure to check it out.

What a crappy rainy week it has been. Can't get anything done on the projects at all. We finally got our new control arms for our Wagon project. We planned on installing them today. But nope, it's been raining so we can't go outside. So, my son Chris stayed in the garage, working on the 350 Pontiac engine that will be going in our 1980 Trans Am project. We also dropped off the upper & lower control arms at D&D Wheel Alignment. DJ always takes good care of us and handles the bushing and ball joint swaps. I will post up some pics tomorrow of where we are with the projects.

Anyway, back to racing at EIRT. Like everything else, the rain has affected EIRT's race schedule. We did get to race last night. But man was it slow. I think overall there were about 30 cars there. They did have a few spectators out there though. And one thing that was not slow out there last night was The Phenon Stang. As you all read earlier, The Phenom Crew ripped out a 8.33@ 149mph shakedown pass. Got to give props to Ralph for driving the car. You could tell he was fighting it all the way. With not enough cars out there and a lot of moisture in the air, the track conditions just were not the best. Here is The Phenom's pass from last night....

Was that wild or what? For more wild action, check out the world famous track action video. We have vids of Mr. Turbo, Joel Cura, making about 60 passes in The Booger. Car was very consistent, turning 10.50 passes over and over. Also last night, the match race between Jason Cantu and Juan C Penaflor went down. We got to the track just as they were lining up. So we were not able to get the race on video. But, Juan C Penaflor won the race. Also out testing was Charlie Deleon, running a 9.57 pass in the Chapulin Stang. Awesome races tonight guy's. The TDR racers put on a great show for the race fans. All the races went off as planned, except for the race between The Bounty Hunter and The Reaper. The Bounty Hunter crew was having some issues with the nitrous system and were not able to make the call. Congrats to all of tonights winners, but special congrats go out to the Ghost Crew for drawing a new line in the sand. With Ed Galbraith behind the wheel, The Ghost managed to rip out a 8.21 @ 166mph pass...DAMN!...That is all you heard in the stands...LOL! Nope, no short belt mod. All we did was replace a squeeking idler pulley with a new one. Ever since then, the car throws the belt. Guess I am going to order one from the dealer to see if that helps. -- Mod, 22:46:46 09/23/09 Wed
