Since I am not realized, I cannot judge him one or the other way. But, I can understand your question where it is coming from.

I knew about Osho since late 60's and early 70's. He used to come on our campus. I practically shun my mind for having to do anything what he had to say just because I was brainwashed by the traditional cultural mindset. However, in the late 90's some chain of events led me from one thing to another. I came across some people and I wanted to get out of this prison of my opinionated mind so, i took up a task to evaluate his teachings in the earnest. and to my surprise, i bought the first book "Book of Secrets." It took me about three years to finish it but that was one of the best things that happened to me. Past few years I have met quite a few of his direct disciples - just by accident, and they all seem to turn out to be very good people - very normal and full of awareness.

If you approach with the close mind, you may not benefit. But keep your mind open. He is a true rebel - a revolutionary in his thinking. I tend not to judge his outer behavior as I have not witnessed myself anything.

His discourses on Bhagwat Gita, astavakra gita and Upanishads and other Jain and buddhist scriptures, ZEN etc are phenomenal. Plus, all the books published under his name are not some words or notes taken by his disciples. They are pretty much verbetim of what he said spontaniously.

Either you love him or hate him. There is no in-between. If you want to get out of the prison of inner burdon of opinions and beliefs and brainwashing, you can give it a try. Thru him, I was introduced to several great masters.

I just learned recently that most of the jain monks read his books secretly. And though the world has condemned him, his books still remain very close to best sellers. Most of his old books are now priced very dearly.
