It had been a long journey, the ice of the northlands still sent chills down her spine, though she had left them behind almost a week ago. She had been down in the plains prior to that, and it had been a good week before the wanderlust rose again to spur her onwards once more. Reaching behind her she checked the harp case that was hidden under her bed roll, an automatic movement to assure herself that it was still there. A few times she had thought she would have to abandon it, but had stubbornly refused to do so, it was part of her livelihood, and though she could survive without it, she didn't really want to. The harp had been a gift from her mother, the last thing she had recieved from her before her mother had been killed by a flash flood almost two years ago. The jewels that had been left as part of her inheritance had been left with a trusted friend, she had no desire to lose the precious remenants of her past to thieves. She wondered what she would find here, it was a place she had not traveled through before, the wooded land was difficult to traverse, and she had heard stories of the wild creatures that inhabited this part of the world. What had drawn her here was the unusual energies that pulsed and flowed unevenly, as though someone barely trained in magecraft was tampering without taking proper precautions against trouble. She was only a bard, but that still made her sensitive to the flows of power around her. It should be interesting to see what was causing it, and for what purpose.
