Stopping to rest for a moment under one of the trees that had become abundant, she tugged on the straps holding the harp and all of her other possessions to release them into the grass. Picking up the harp, one hand sliding against the well worn wooden frame, the other absently tuning the instrument with deft movements, she leans back against the rough bark of the tree. Settling the harp on her leg, she starts to play, a light melody that circled around her, weaving its own spell of tranquility and peace. It reflected the aura of the forest around her, it seemed so very quiet here, even though the birds were singing and the insects were buzzing around, it still seemed quiet. It was not unusual for her to play to an animal audiance, the music was soothing both to her, and to those that heard it, wether or not she used her bardic gift or not. She had asked once, what made a bard a Bard and not just an extremely talented minstrel. Her mentor had told her of the gift, something similar to projective empathy, only it was carried through the music instead of by conscious thought. It was a good gift, and those that had a strong gift could control even riots in full swing with their music. Her own gift was not that powerful, and would not become so, which was fine with her. She'd rather be a good bard than a powerful one. Music was everything to her, new melodies formed in her mind, and kept there until she could put them down on paper. The only thing that kept her from a nice position with a wealthy family, the kind that kept servants for almost everything, was the wanderlust that she had in abundance.
Sighing a little, she detuned the harp and stood, one hand already slinging the pack back to it's spot between her shoulderblades. Scooping up the harp, she puts it back in it's case and twists to hook it in it's accustomed traveling place. It was time to move on again, though darkness was not far off and she would have to stop again for the night. Hopefully there would be a town nearby that had a decent inn, otherwise she'd be sleeping under the stars.
