If God were going to bring a message to the world, I don't think he'd try to do it through white surfer trash. :)

I think Milch and company probably wrote the dialogue and then the Deadwood guys took the script and added the word "fuck" wherever it had a remote possibility of fitting.

How/Why would Freddy and Palaka think they were supposed to protect the Yosts? The rest of the characters in the show are believable, but those two aren't at all to me.

I've liked Ed O'Neill in everything I've seen him in. He's terrific. But, quality of acting is secondary to the story to me. You can put an all star cast into Caddyshack 2 and it's still going to suck. And the kid is a REALLY, REALLY bad actor.

I don't know who Brian Van Holt is.

I'm guessing that it will be brought back. There are a core of people who think that anything HBO does is gold and they'll hound the new guy until he brings it back. Supposedly, that's what happened with the CBS show, Jericho.
