As Dane's mate went to obey his wishes, Kaden was currently trying to convince Anya that they weren't going to be able to get in to see her parents that day. Suddenly, hearing the roar, his head shot up and his bottomless, appearingly souless, black eyes turned to see his brother nearly directly in front of him. God damnit, the woman could distract him from a herd of elephants trampling over his body. Shifting his massive body in the air, he slowly tipped his head to the side before he spoke to the green dragoness at his side. "Get behind me, lass, and keep yer bluidy mouth shut, aye?" Knowing her, she would jump into a dr. phil session at the first chance she got. His eyes took in Dane's appearance before he realized that his brother had no idea who he was and that hurt worse then anything had before. Fury flashed in his gaze and he let loose a powerful roar, his midnight body shining with good health and a fit, muscular body. "Goin' to bring yer soldiers out to greet me, Brethair?" He growled out, his voice low and thick, so different from the energetic bouncy tone of his youth. "Having lived with them for nigh on a year, they might at least ken who I was before there attack." Shaking his head, he narrowed his eyes at Durgan and then turned back to Dane. "I have nay purpose here." The words were cold and final and he roared once more before he turned his head to nudge at Anya, not even wanting Dane to see her for fear that the older Laird would try and reclaim her. He wasn't ready to fight his brother yet, Dane was the strongest, largest male he had ever encountered. While he knew pure fury would be on his side, it would be a tough battle and the last thing he wanted was to leave Bree and the whelps all alone in the world.
