My dd is also short and people have always assumed she was much younger than she actually is. The biggest help was her gymnastics teacher who is also very petite. She was such a positive influence on my dd. We also used the phrases "big things come in small packages", "little miss dynamite", etc. We found all the positives in being petite-cute clothes, getting "cute" guys to get the stuff that was too high too reach, etc. She is now 13, has no issues with her height, is always positive and has a good body image.
