Two years, out of pageants: Two years have passed since my daughter quit pageants. This is the only board I come to anymore, so I am so out of the pageant loop. Is the same stuff still going on? The T/M monarchy came crashing down with their breakup. Their political influence is gone. A zillion new systems - most nice enough weekends but each one has it's own small time agenda. Winning is hit or miss because there is no consistency in judging anymore. The standard for clothes has come way down so you see some pretty ratty things on stage yet no-one seems to care. The Butts camp became so impersonal that they lost their influence and kids from other coaches are actually surpassing the Butts students. Photos are so over the top that they look nothing like the kid and photogenic has become a side event . Casual Wear modeling is now like pro-am and pro-am is a talent competition. I once worked for a leading dress designer, and the clothes now are so crappy. We would have never turned out stuff that was so sloppy looking. I really wish things could go back to the way it was about 10 years ago, maybe not with some of the clothing fashions. Clothing has become ratty looking, T & M are no longer together, a fact not a bash. One of them is married to a woman and has a child. The Butts camp has suffered very personal tragedy this year. Photogenic makes kids look like cartoons now. Whatever happened to a photogenic picture that actually looked like the kid, not a painted portrait? and gymnastics in pro-am? give it a rest! put the gym moves back in the gym, and let the kids do turns, jacket tricks and fancy footwork, along with facial expressions. Nobody was bashed in the post and I certainly see no favoritism. I don't understand your comments at all. It seems there was no "bickering" until you made your post.
