Subject: He had had a late lunch so wasn't too hungry and just had a small ration himself, but he chit-chatted with the kids as they came and went and did mostly what she did - sat back and soaked up the atmosphere. Even with all the pain that these kids had experienced, there was an underlying devotion to each other and a caring that spoke of a common bond that no one else could understand. It was a bit of a relief just to be able to observe...
