I am interested in knowing the cost to enter, and any other 'mandatory' costs (program book ads, tickets, etc.) to compete for:
Mrs. America
Mrs. United States and
Mrs. International
STATE pageants.
and also the cost to go as an 'at large' contestant if there is no state pageant?
Also, what are the costs (airfare, hotel, meals, transportation, etc.) to compete at Nationals for each of the Big3.
Thanks so much for any info. Don't want to bite off more than I can chew.

It will cost you at least $20,000 to compete at the national level, and around $5-6,000 at state. cost 09/10/13 Tue

I'm disappointed in the $20k post. You COULD spend that much if you buy all your wardrobe new, go to the most expensive photographers, hire the most expensive hair and makeup artists for every day of the pageant, etc. But this is not necessary AT ALL to win, and definitely not for you to enjoy it all. Mrs America STATE varies from state to state. Mrs America Nationals. Mandatory Ad $1000 (sometimes covered under state win prizes) and that is all. Everythng else is provided. Optionals are the National Photo Package $199, Any incidental purchases, and Family hotel, food, flight, and tickets to the show. Plan on, with both, $5000 (that is including the wardrobe). I would say this is a fair estimate for Mrs United States too because if you do not win state ALL expenses are on your own. International, I hear is much more. 09/11/13 Wed

Mrs United States at large is $1,500. Minimum ad required $550 (only 1/2 page required for at-large). Optional photographer photos around $125, optional dvd around $100, breakfast and lunch is provided but not dinner during the pageant, room is provided if you stay with pageant assigned roommate, and travel is on your own. Of course, hiring makeup and hair stylists is optional. You can get an awesome used wardrobe that rivals anything new. (NT) -- Good luck, 09/11/13 Wed

good breakdown. 5K is about right for US if you keep your costs at minimum. It's the option of getting your own room and meals, flying that raise it up high. Bringing family is much more - but it's got to be the cheapest one of the 3. Int'l requires so much upscale wardrobe and trying to impress, that it will cost you more. America is so long that you can't help but spend a bunch. Wardrobe is the difference with all of them - sides are photos, travel, rooms, food, souvenirs, opening #, training, hair/makeup, family travel, tickets and programs, ads, sash & crown (US at large) (NT) -- it creeps up fast, 09/12/13 Thu
