Subject: Ladies! Please!!! Stop asking for money on facebook for your hobby!!! Make your request private to frineds and family. I find it so utterly tacky that pageant ladies (espcially the Mrs. contestants) ask their fellow pageant sisters for money.

OK. I feel the same about directors having charity pageants for their own entry fee to a pageant. Be honest! (NT)...03/02/14 Sun
Thank you! I know one who does this year after year, then she whines and cries online when she doesn't win. (NT)So tacky03/02/14 Sun
I would never go to FB to raise $$ for a pageant. When you get to the national level you go to small local business to sponsor an ad etc. Other than that, what the heck do they want you to "go fund"? Their personal Travel? Hotel? Wardrobe? Misc.? If you can't afford to go to nationals, DON'T COMPETE... When it comes to a mandatory "ad page" I have no problem with women doing their due diligence and scoping out local sponsors, but to ask friends and family for $$$ to compete is low-class. Unless it's an actual sponsorship for an ad page get out of the self fund-raising business. (NT)Stop the FB fundraising insanity....03/03/14 Mon
Just saw a video on youtube of someone asking for donations. OMG!!!! Personally, I think this is rhe depth of tackiness. (NT)I just don't get it.03/09/14 Sun
I received a request from a miss contestant. She met me once two years ago when I judged her. Her request was not for a CMA donation but a request for money (code: clothing and pageant coach). She stated she helped thousands and needs to continue. Really; volunteer work costs $2000? Asking me for money in her manner is egotistical and classless. If I ever judge this contestant again, she will be grilled in the interview room. My first question will be to give me the names and brief information of ten specific people that she helped. Pageants are not a necessary hobby; asking for money is a delicate matter. There should be reasonable boundaries for all ages. Click In.respectfully disagree03/22/14 Sat
Contestants should stop soliciting on Facebook when DIRECTORS stop soliciting for contestants on Facebook! Directors tell candidates to use EVERY opportunity to help them pay the entry fee, etc. Do you think the director cares how the person gets the money to compete? NO! All they care about is the entry fee being paid! If you don't want to donate to help someone live their dream then DON'T, but don't criticize them for using the outlets available to them. Call any director and ask them if they care & they will say NO and will encourage it if it means that person walks across their stage. (NT)Raise Money any way you can.... (legally)03/22/14 Sat
