Wow, a lot of us loved this station just as much! Now that I've read the posts, there were lots of great personalities on OR-FM. And yes, I bought the Double Golden albums. Tony Taylor, Sebastian Stone, Steve Clark, Walt "Baby" Love, I remember them all! How about these hooks? "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN....MEMORIES ARE MADE OF THIS", "TEN YEARS AGO TODAY!", and the catch you'd hear after 20/20 news, "AND THAT'S WHAT'S HAPPENING TODAY JULY 1, 1969...(DRUM ROLL)...JULY 1, 1959 (and into a 1959 oldie).

I recall graduating high school in 1970 and having an FM converter installed in my car the following week. Now that's good use of graduation money! Most of us had FM radios at home, but 90% of cars had AM only. FM was considered a luxury option then. You found it on Cadillacs and Lincolns, but rarely on Fords and Chevys.

And of course, one other footnote: the success of OR-FM led to WMCA going all-talk on September 21, 1970.
