(She at least understood now why the lass had been blushing so furiously.. she was young, innocent and feeling a wee bit insecure about her intimate relationship with her husband..) Well, ye know.. ye have a year to find out if ye love the lad or not, I say why doona ye give it yer all and see where it leads.. if ye doona part ways friends then ye weren't meant to be friends anyways. (She said in a friendly manner, as though she were confiding in her best friend over hot cocoa at a slumber party.. she loved discussing boys and relationships, it was her favorite thing in the world to do. She suddenly recalled how all the girls at the keep had banded together to make sure that the lasses had perfect nights with their lads.. so perhaps she was just going to have to get the girls together and go shopping.. a bit of spice ever hurt a relationship. She had a feeling the lass would be altogether too nervous to discuss anything of that nature, so she put the thought aside to talk to Addie, Nellie and Jai about later.) Och, there'll be a next time, lassie.. I would bet my wee lads on it.. (She laughed at the ludicris idea of betting her children, which of course was a blatant lie.) I saw the way ye were both so close, and trust me, once ye find that awareness inside ye - ye'll be thanking me for givin ye the birth control. (He found himself looking towards the door as though hoping to catch sight of Mairah.. he sort of missed her.. they had been together pretty much every moment over the past week and he was starting to become accustomed to seeing her and having her be apart of whatever was going on.. plus he didn't like not knowing if she was safe or not.) Aye, that he is.. killed me own mam. (He said with a flare of temper in his eyes, downing the last of the scotch and setting the glass on the wet bar before eyeing his cigar and taking a deep breath.) If she hadna been there with me that day I woulda killed him myself.. even if it meant gettin myself killed. I'll do whatever it takes to get him killed or put away somewhere. (He broght his eyes to Loch when he mentioned Mairah's age, and felt a pride and a jealousy at the same time.) There's just somethin about that lass.. the moment she looked at me with those eyes I sort of knew I just had to protect her.. I knew no matter what happened that her safety and happiness suddenly meant a lot more to me than my own. (He furrowed his gaze as though not sure if his thoughts were crazy or not.) I doona think I will take kindly to anyone lookin at her with anything other than respect.
