Subject: A Big Possibility J.B. is the Unseelie King!!

Ok girls! I dunno if you noticed, but J.B. being the Unseelie King is HIGHLY possible, due to his torques and unnatural power( throwing Malluce as if he weighed anything). He was also probably uneasy around O'Bannion cuz he knew that he had the Spear of Luisne!! Also, if you read The immortal Highlander, Darroc tells bastion, a hunter, how the Unseelie King has been gone for a score and ten years, meaning 30 years, and J.B. is described as in his thirties. It would also make PERFECT sense why he NEEDS Mac and his excitement and obsession over the sinsar Dubh!! Also, no wonder darroc was in shock when he saw J.B., cuz he was prolly caught redhanded by the Unseelie king! I dunno, maybe I'm going overboard here, but thats what I think.

[> I think he was more in shocked that a mortal jumped down from so high up. Barrons was surprised to find the Lord Master wasn't a Fae. I think Mac would sense something odd about Barron if he were the Unseelie king, he would probably radiate some sort of presence like the other Fae's, even if in human form. I'm hoping BloodFever will finally reveal who/what Barrons really is, or at least what he isn't. -- Anny, 21:15:43 12/16/06 Sat [1]

[> In Into the Dreaming, it says, "Since the Unseelie king was barred entrance to the human world, he trained his Vengeance to carry out his orders." So anyway, even IF he managed to somehow get into the mortal realm (which with all of the other Unseelie getting out - why not?) the book describes him so oddly, "Some claim [his eyes] had been emptied of matter and pure chaos spooned into the sockets." And, "His shadow moved unnaturally as he rose, slithering around him, wont to move independently of its host." I just can't bring myself to accept that JB is the Unseelie king. I don't know. -- Kelli Jo, 21:33:11 12/16/06 Sat [1]

[> JB the Unseelie King -- Mary, 02:28:09 12/17/06 Sun [1]

I was also thinking that JB may be the Unseelie King because of the torque and that the shades don't seem to bother him and seem to move away from him when he passed by them. Adam Black's torque and armcuffs were gold and the one's JB has are silver and black, but it is still a possibility. I also believe that if he was the Unseelie king he could cast enough glamour that Mac may not be able to penetrate it, because according to the definition the more powerful the fae the harder it is to penetrate their disguise. Mac has also just bagan to understand her powers and may not be at her full abilities.

[> Another thing is that, the Fae's don't age the same way humans do. I believe the Queen was mentioned as being at least 200 years old and the Unseelie king as being even older than her. So, it wouldn't matter how old they are because they don't age like us. I did at first thought he could be the Unseelie king too or maybe secretly working with them. But I don't know, you gotta wait to see what happens in the next book. -- Anny, 02:35:04 12/17/06 Sun [1]

[> [> Unseelie King -- Mary, 01:24:48 01/06/07 Sat [1]

I just reread Immortal and it said that Darroc's torque and armbands are black, JB's torque if I remember is black and silver and Adams are gold. I am wondering if maybe the Seelie the light fae wear gold thus light and the Unseelie wear black or black and silver thus dark. I don't know just a dumb thought there. And as was brought up before in Into the dreaming the Unseelie King has been missing for about 30 years which to me seems fishy.

[> I think the King appearing as a mortal in the mortal realm is too, well, blatant. When I read Dreaming he seemed to be far more patient and about ten times more subtle than Aoibhveal, and appearing as a mortal to get things done just doesn't smack me of his style. On the other hand, it was mentioned in early books that he wasn't quite sane so who knows what the King is willing to do? Plus, there's no feeling of nausea what-so-ever around JB by himself. Even before Mac was able to penetrate glamours, she felt nausea around the Unseelie, and all she gets from JB is an electric tingle when they touch. -- Annaline, 09:45:45 12/17/06 Sun [1]

[> [> Exactly, Annaline. And the Unseelie King is imprisoned in his own realm, so unless their was some seriously liberal judges on his parole board, I doubt he would be trotting around the mortal realm. I think he's probably got somebody working for him, somebody who can travel between the realms. The Fae seem to be pretty omniscient, so if JB was the Unseelie King, I don't think he would have been so surprised at everything he's learned about Mac. -- Libby, 14:33:31 12/19/06 Tue [1]

[> Jericho -- Jan, 11:27:14 12/17/06 Sun [1]

If Jereicho was the Unseelie King Nac would freeze him evertime they touch for a least a moment. Even if he had some way to prevent it he was not aware she was a Sidhseer and a null the first time they met.

[> If Jericho were the Unseelie King, wouldn't his touch literally kill Mac? & I think in Into the Dreaming, the Unseelie King is obsessed with the Seelie Queen. I'm kinda thinking she's like his true love or something. I wouldn't want Jericho to be the Unseelie King because I'd like to see him & Mac together =) -- jubs, 14:12:22 12/17/06 Sun [1]

[> JB = Unseelie King? -- Rhonda Carda, 12:52:46 01/14/07 Sun [1]

I totally buy this theory! It would explain why JB has the shadows avoiding him - it would put Mac in the same situation as her sister - why JB can't touch the sword and why he wants the book so bad. It would be a bummer to me as I favor JB as romantic hero to Mac.
