Ok. I am re-reading through the KMM novels and taking notes to find out interesting things that may help solve some of the mystery that is going on about the Fever series.
In Highlander's Touch on Pg. 4, Circeen (while talking to Adam) that the four hallows have been secured: the stone, the spear, the sword, and the cauldron.
How did O'Bannion get his hands on the spear????
In HT, Circeen told Lisa that they could travels between his time and hers if she wanted, and I believe that Adam stated in IH, that Cincinnati was their place of residence when they were in the time.
So my question is at what point did Circeen loose posession of the Hallows? Was he removed as the Gaurdian?

Anyways, I was mulling over this theory for a while...I could not help but notice how Darroc and V'lane are described similarly, although Darroc has the scar. Suppose V'lane was somehow connected with darroc, meaning he wanted to get rid of Adam, as Adam, also being a fae prince, posed competition for him. That would be a good incentive for Darroc and V'lane to unite...but now, all V'lane really is is Darroc's lapdog, ally, etc. I dunno....I just feel that Darroc and v'lane are somehow related or working together...Hmmmm...

Ok, I re-read Into the Dreaming and found something very interesting on (I think that it was Pg. 4) where they were describing the Unseelie King's Vengence. Talking how he was taught how about all of the different centuries so he would be able to move around comfortably, had special talents, but something about there were sacrifices and things that they lost.
This got me thinking about the latest teaser that was sent out and JB was saying how he "Yes I have loved, Ms. Lane, and although it's none of your business, I have lost. Many things. And no I am not like any other player in this game...."
What if he is someway connected to the Unseelie King as his current Vengence and Like Aiden cant be controlled or it wore off and he is seeking the Dark Book to use it as a Bargining tool. JB is very smart and knows about countless things, we have seen a few of his special talents and when Mac approached the idea he said "we all have special gifts (or talents???).
I maybe reaching but wanted to throw this out there.

- I have no doubt that Cian's sister's were able to carry on the line of Druids, and just because Cian said that the knowledge was passed on through the males doesn't mean that he was right. Men back then didn't geive women enough credit. Historically, in the time of the druids in Northern Europe, before the Roman invasion, female druids were the scholars, healers, priestesses,and community leaders. They were revered due to their mysterious power to create life in their own bodies. It wasn't until men started realizing their part in procreation, and then the invasion of Rome and later Christianity, that ideas and roles began to change. It is very possible that Cian merely did not know just how much his sisters knew. This is my second posting. I love reading everyone else's. I am back to my same theory. JB is part berserker. On page 38 he is described as having dark eyes. Dark what? In To Tame Grimm eyes are described as blue. His eyes's are being compared to fine saphires. Saphires are dark blue. In several of the other scenes he is moveing so fast that Mac "did't see it coming". He has grabbed her several times really quick like. He has dropped from high places a couple of times, which would not have hurt a berserker. On page 289 Mac is ordered to be taking alive and kill the other. The only other is JB. If he was Seelie everyone knows the only way to be killed is by the spear or the sword. I just dont know??????????What do you think or am I just babling on?

My daughter just finished DarkFever and the 1st thing she said to me was "It just stopped" with a dumbfounded expression on her face. She is now officially going crazy like the rest of us LOL. The second thing she said was "so, what is Barrons?". OF course I had to laugh. Then I told her some of our thoughts on the subject and she wanted to debate them with me. Since she was supposed to be studying for exams, I told her we'd discuss it next week when exams are over. She's dying for October and is disappointed because she's 3rd on the list of people who get to read the book. I think I'll surprise her with her own copy; early Christmas present.

Were Druids only male or could they be female?
I am kind of hoping that JB is Fae, Druid or a mix of both, so this is the reason for my question.
We know that Adam Black was able to sire a half fae son, what if a female fae was able to do the same with a Druid male? This would explain his almost Druid like qualities when healing Mac at the end of Darkfever and his special abilities (from Fae mom) that we have witnessed so far.
Just a thought.

Hi - First time poster here and I'm as obsessed with KMM's books as everyone else. I've been rereading all of the Highlander books searching for clues to the Fever Series. When rereading "Into the Dreaming", I noticed in Chapter 15 that there are some descriptions of the Unseelie King that remind me of both JB and V'lane, such as: "[Aiobheal]knew from intimate experience just how inventively, exhaustively erotic he was. A true master of pain, he understood pleasure as no other could." (sounds like "Death by Sex" V'lane to me). And: "Not quite fairy, his blood mixed with the blood of a creature even the Fae hesitated to name" also "And when he was upon her, when he had gathered her up and his great wings began to flap ..." (sounds like some of the references that have been made to JB possibly being vampire or perhaps even an entirely new species?)

I also bought the Audio version of Darkfever, and I enjoyed it tremendously..I have been spoiled now and I hope Karen does all future books on audio as well. Personally I think it was seeing that the picture of the narrator looked absolutely nothing like what we envisioned Mac to look like that made the voice seem not what some might expect. Truthfully speaking though; She did a great job Esp when she did JB. SHE AMAZED ME the way she could go from Mac's southern drawl to JB's irish/pict as she narrated. Can't wait for more.

I was talking to my friend, a new recriut to the Series. She made a observation I am going to share. She said though she has only read 3 of the books so far and now read the Bloodfever excerpt she noticed THIS: 1st= That when the Druids (MacKELTARS) TRAVEL BACK IN TIME or when preparing to do BATTLE they always paint symbols (Tatoos) on themselves & other objects like the scared stones. She pointed out that when Cian prepared to do battle with the dark one that imprisoned him in the mirror he painted himself and places on the castle's grounds. She has decided that JB wants to take Mac BACK in time where he is really from and where MAC'S TRUE HERITAGE WILL BE REVEALED. JB wants to share his past with her so he can know if she can love the true JB, who & what he is as well as ACCEPT her destiny & duties, and that there is no going back to her old life now. This is why he needs to take her back to where it all started. I also think we will find out that someone JB loved was killed by Darroc or V'Lane and he has not loved again until Mac!

I think JB is a unseelie fae of soem sort but wants to be powerful and is kind of racing other unseelie for the book. Because the dark king guy that dated Mac's sister is not the dark king. If you guys remember the dark king has not been seen in a while. Same with the seelie queen. So Vlaine may not be a seelie prince. But Barrons is definetly something fae. And lets all pray OCT comes fast.

I just have to say...Darkfever is the best in Karens line of books. Givin they all have there own greatness to them but DF really works you over. It makes you really think and pull your hair out waiting for the next one. ARG! Personally if I was Mac I would give Mr. Yummy Barrons there a piece of my mind. LOL Just had to get that out there.

First time posting :) This is the first KMM book I've read. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to BloodFever.
Anyways, so I'm not too sure what JB is, but I'm definitely thinking he has some connection to V'lane. Did anyone else notice that after Mac gets back from seeing V'lane in the museum and has her scene with JB shortly thereafter. She says she's still feeling the effects of V'lane's powers. What if JB has the same powers but can dampen them down. There were multiple aversions to sexual tension between Mac and JB, and while it may just be the build-up to them being together, it just seemed vaguely reminiscent of V'lane.

I was thinking that maybe JB is an unseelie prince, that has fallen from grace from the Unseelie king. If you think about it, even in the Faery world, people are not always so black and white, good an bad (take Darroc for example). There are some people who are born into horrible situations but don't turn out that way. JB could have been a unseelie prince that decided that the "evil" way or "bad" way wasn't all his bag and that upset the King. So just like Adam was cast out, JB may have been the same. His being "damned" may very well be similiar to the same "damned" that Adam was. Obviously Adam had been left with more abilities, but that just proves that JB is not in high regards with the King. This also could account for the fact that people recognize him and he has all those not very human like qualities, but is still a human (as far as we know).
Does anyone see what I mean?? :)

Just like V'lane, Barrons can't detect the hallows. And the book mentions that the Fae from the royal houses (both dark and light) are so strong that even a sidhe-seer can't see through the Glamour? And he does seem to reveal "something" to Fiona when Mac is eavesdropping. I though he might be a vampire, however, there are several occassions in the story where he is up and moving during the daytime. And when Barrons first discovers that Mac is a Null, well he something like he thought that Nulls were only a myth; and then Fiona says something to the extent of well Jericho, you of all people should know about myths.

I had thought this too. There was mention that when "Mac" killer her first Unseelie, (JB really did) the Unseelie had a look of surprise on it's face.
