I don't why I thought of this after reading the Bloodfever teaser but I think that V'lane is Unseelie because if you look at the names we have for the Seelie so far They are all one word names Darroc, Aoibheal, Amaden, Mael, Aine. Only V'lane's name is different. I think this a clue as to who he really is because he is not a good guy. If you think about it if the Unseelie had Mac on their side they could do a ton of damage to the Seelie court.
On another note i think that JB Cares a lot more for Mac then he is letting because in the BF teaser he destroys his shop and her room after finding out she is not there. you don't Destroy someones room unless you care deeply for them cause if JB really didnt give a fudge he wouldn't care where she is or what she was doing and he certainly wouldn't have trashed his shop when he found out she was gone.
Anyway these are just Erin's thought for the day.

Man, I missed Mass Sunday and was completely oblivious to the fact that yesterday was Mardi Gras and so didn't do my feasting and now I have to fast ~_~* But that's not important.
Oh my goodness gracious!! That newsletter was fantastic!! Who else is positively drowning in drool after reading what JB had to say? Anyone else as excited as me about reading about that whole tattoo thing? I must admit my animosity towards V'lane hiked up yet another notch after reading that teaser (he's a slimy git and always will be forever and ever *grr*) and I'm about ready to start trashing my own library to read about JB trashing his!! He's sooooo sexy! *starts gibbering unitelligibly*

This is my first time posting. I have enjoyed reading.
Couldn't JB be part Berserker? He is very fast, he picked up the vampire and slung him easily. He jumps from high places. He could be a myth to? And part Druid for his voice
and healing ability's. He seems certain that he is safe no matter where he goes or when. I just hope he is the good guy and Mac's mate.

This is my first time posting to this board. Like everyone else here, I can't wait for Bloodfever to be released! So, I was reading along here, and I was wondering if anyone else made the connection between Darroc and the Lord Master? It could be in the archives, which I just haven't had time to read through yet. Also, does anyone else think Jericho is a vamp? He just seems to be a lot more discreet than Malluce, and that would explain why the shades aren't interested in him?

- Hi, Marie! Welcome to the board. Yes, we have put Darroc as the Lord Master. I think the Unseelie King made a deal with him and took him from human form to Unseelie. As far as JB, I think he is part Druid, part Fae since he is or seems to have lived a long time, can jump and appear at od time, and used voice and knew how to repair Mac's body after the fight. Mael was the queen's new consort after she sent Adam away as punishment in the Immortal H'Lander. I suspect he was totally jealous of Adam and insecure about his position with the queen as long as Adam was alive so he helped Darroc plot his death.

JERICHO IS MORE THAT A SEER! JB is always landing or jumping down from a high place,with Black coat (same as black cape) flapping. Even Mac said such a jump would have fractured another man's legs. Also in reassuring Mac he indicated that Malues had been summoned away by someone he could not refuse. Maybe he was referring to the vampire that made Maluse, Jericho himself maybe? ANOTHER THING! When Jericho commented about Fiona SHE SERVING HIS NEEDS did he mean as JUST a lover or to feed on as well? ANOTHER THOUGHT, Does anyone one remember the Royal Consort (Fae)that tried to win the Queen's favor & take Adam's place while Adam was being punished to live as a human? Could JB be an ancient "pict" vampire? Why not have a vampire and human team up to outwit the Seelie and Unseelie. A few hints which may or may not be misleading. JB asked to be invited into Mackaylas room, licked her neck, appears only after dark, strong "like a vampire",and he was angry that Maltuese was made into a vampire. JB has told Mackayla he would not let her die.....and the next book is "Bloodfever"..... Fiona is doomed, the gal is history. Mackayla has moved in and JB is moving on

I've just read Dark Fever last night, i am so annoyed that i'm done, now every book i read jus doesnt seem good enough. But thats beside the point. Here's my theory and i'm sure other people have already thought of this but i think the lord master is actually Darroc, the fairy that Aiobheal cursed in Immortal Highlander, he has the scar and it would also explain why he can open the portal to the Unseelie prison and not be Fae.

Has anyone had the thought that maybe V'lane and JB are one and the same? I mean it would certainly explain a lot of things, Fiono for one, JB not sensing the Hallows, moving so fast...Knowing about Mac's encounter with V'lane. Could the Cuff of Cruce JB was wearing protect him against Null's?
Only one draw back to this theory, when JB was training Mac how to kill the Gray man, he read her the riot for allowing her to be touched. He said he couldn't follow her if the Unseelie sifted, and we all know from Adam, that sifting does leave a followable trail. But then, I don't think this would be the first lie JB has told.
Anyhow, just another thought to ponder and drive us crazy

I picked darkfever up on a whim because I remembered the Highlander books. I was so mad when I started reading it because I HATE books written in the first person. Steaming, I turned the page (muttering under my breath about how I want my money back), then I turned the next page.... Three hours later I'm finished and I NEED the next book RIGHT NOW.

Maybe JB is one of the druids Aoibheal mentioned in SPELL. Not necessarily one of the offspring of someone we already met but someone new.
If I remember correctly, Fae and human can't kill each other because of the Pact, so that would be why the unseelie he killed was shocked. Also because it is almost impossible to kill a seelie or unseelie. Being Druid, and with the secret room opened again (DARK HIGHLANDER), he would at some point have had access to all the seelie and unseelie information so he would know about all the hallows, unseelies, etc. Also Darroc, Lord Master, would have known who he was from time traveling before he turned human (in IMMORTAL). As to him being able to move the way he does, maybe he is half Berserker too.
I still believe he was cursed someway and wants the Sinsar Dubh to find a way to "remake" the curse. I don't remember him ever saying why he, or everyone else, wants the book.
Just some ideas I had to throw out there.

It also brought up some shoulda's, coulda's and woulda's in me that had been hidden for years. It brought back my love of Scotland I have had since I was 2. I don't know why this book in particular, maybe it was just Cian and Jessi and how they were together. Afterall, when he thumps his chest and says" You fit me here" to Jessi, I just melted! Can Jericho see the shades that lurk outside his bookstore? He seems surprised that Mac can see them but could he see them too? I remember he didn't know where to look when she told him where they were. Is he just aware that they are out there waiting to turn enimes into dust (or parchment) or can he really see them like Mac can. I can't remember!

Because he is completely and utterly unable to sense certain objects, instead of being a Null he's a Void and they have no effect on him. He's 'stupid' and can't see them and they can't 'see' him either. I think the idea that JB is unseelie is ineteresting- it would certainly explain why JB can walk among the Shades w/o danger. But it doesn't quite add up- V'lane is not likely unseelie- Mac would have been able to see it despite its glamour, and the same goes for JB; the fact that JB told Mac that he "knows everything" (when he asked her why she didn't tell him of her encounter(s) with V'lane, and she asked how he knew that) and his speed when running her to safety after the confrontation with Lord Master and Malluce in the Dark Zone. Then he used the "Voice"-(remember the command voice used by the luscious heroes in the Highlander books?)-to heal her and help her sleep- I am not able to pinpoint what JB is- It could be so many things- he could very well be a Royal Hunter for all we know . . . any other thoughts?

There's another thing about JB I have been wondering about. How does he know so much about the different unseelie? they were already imprisoned when they came to this planet and have not been roaming free. And Darroc was a seelie, he was on the queens council, but was trying to overthrow her and go back to the way things were before the compact.I don;t think JB is Circenn and Lisa's son. He is just to cold and ruthless to be theirs.

Does anyone have any other author suggestions to read while very paitently waiting for the new Bloodfever? I order the Pamela Clare (looks good so far, thanks for the post) and I have all the Sherilyn Keynon. Any others that are good?

- Gwen - If you need a "fix" of Highlanders, Give Hannah Howell's books a try. She is straight historical but I think that you will enjoy her books. My favorites so far have been, Highland Bride & Highland Warrior. I just finished Highland Groom which I enjoyed very much (great plot). I think the Fever series would be a great 5 night event on cable TV or maybe the Sci-Fi channel (something that wouldn't censor). Definitely a great DVD collection. What do all of you think?

- Hi, Judy! Welcome to the board. Be sure to post on the other side, too. We had a discussion a few weeks ago and decided that any movie or series made would definitely have to have a board of us with Karen at the head to decide who would play the parts.
