Subject: Were JB & Malluce friends?

I was thinking about the passage where JB + Mac enter Malluce's chamber for the first time. Mac mentions that later she would learn that 'nothing was what it seemed that night' - that something was nagging her about the way that JB addressed Malluce, but she couldn't put her finger on it, that she would learn that JB had an assurance that they would get out of there alive, and it was not because he had all that financial information on Malluce.

Could it be that JB was working with Malluce to undermine the Lord Master? (Malluce had an OoP without the Lord Master's knowledge). That JB had an arrangement with Malluce, that night, to let Mac feel her way around, but didn't expect Mac to find an OoP & steal it? That eventually, later, when Malluce threatened Mac's life, JB killed him?

Even though I love JB, I get the feeling that there is another shoe that will drop about him. Love JoJo's theory about him being half-fae.

[> That is quite possible, I remember the passage you are talking about. What I am thinking is that JB may be bad but he is going to turn around and be good. -- Cheryle Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket, 09:15:50 05/13/07 Sun [1]

[> Oh thank God! I have a line in the book from where you are talking about claudia that has been haunting me since i read it. on page 139 : "Something nagged at me, something i couldn't quite put my finger on. it was a thing ithat i would stupidly fail to put my finger on until it was too late. before long, i would understand that nothing had been what it seemed that night, and the reason barrons had faced-off so coolly with the bloodsucking master was because he'd gone in with the quiet assurance that no matter what happened, he would walk out alive, and NOT because he had malluce be the proverbial fiscal balls." that last sentence has been making me wonder WHAT had jb so assure he would come out alive?! This line has about driven me crazy thinking that with this one piece of info i might be able to figure out what jb is. -- KJ, 22:04:57 05/29/07 Tue [1]
