I think there is something important behind it, like another clue to what JB is.

- JB/V'Lane....because JB has minions, that find out things for him and "witness" things to report back to JB with. I feel that JB is an integral part and is more or less like Switzerland--neutral to all of them. (NT) -- Kira, 16:21:02 01/03/07 Wed
- Jericho & Vlane probably have some kind of truce. . . but neither really trust each other. -- jubs, 23:42:19 01/03/07 Wed
- I'd have to say I agree with Kira. JB is like Anasi, just sitting in the middle of the web. He's not all powerful, but he has connections and utilizes them properly. I think he knows about V'lane's offer, but not the totality of what went on (or perhaps he was only supposing that V'lane made the offer and Mac's reaction confirmed it). Thus, JB is smart and wise in using what shadows of knowledge he has. Further more, I believe that if JB knew exactly went on between V'lane and Mac that he'd be in the middle of fighting V'lane and getting pissy about him trying to use / take his property. - Yes, I think that J.B and V'lane have some sort of understanding about the sharing of info. That would explain how V'lane already knew that Mac was a null the first time she meets him. Neither of them want to the unseelie to find the book, but I don' t think J.B wants the Seelie to have it either. Thus his search for the book. (NT) -- Rin, 19:43:48 01/07/07 Sun

- Is it possible that V'lane & JB are one and the same? (NT) -- Twinkie, 22:48:35 01/11/07 Thu

Hellooo ladies! So I'm sitting at work and i really need a break so I've been creating a collage for my computer background. I need some images that would remind you of the Fever Series or the Highlander Series. Whether it be pictures of Scotland, Ireland, Bars or locations from the books, the book covers, men who remind you of the characters and legends, anything! Just let me know! (I know - I'm such a nerd) I would greatly appreciate it! And if anyone wants to see the finished product and use it please feel free to ask me! Thank you ladies and have a great day!

- A Big Possibility J.B. is the Unseelie King!! -- Katarina, 20:21:03 12/16/06 Sat [12]
Ok girls! I dunno if you noticed, but J.B. being the Unseelie King is HIGHLY possible, due to his torques and unnatural power( throwing Malluce as if he weighed anything). He was also probably uneasy around O'Bannion cuz he knew that he had the Spear of Luisne!! Also, if you read The immortal Highlander, Darroc tells bastion, a hunter, how the Unseelie King has been gone for a score and ten years, meaning 30 years, and J.B. is described as in his thirties. It would also make PERFECT sense why he NEEDS Mac and his excitement and obsession over the sinsar Dubh!! Also, no wonder darroc was in shock when he saw J.B., cuz he was prolly caught redhanded by the Unseelie king! I dunno, maybe I'm going overboard here, but thats what I think.

- I think he was more in shocked that a mortal jumped down from so high up. Barrons was surprised to find the Lord Master wasn't a Fae. I think Mac would sense something odd about Barron if he were the Unseelie king, he would probably radiate some sort of presence like the other Fae's, even if in human form. I'm hoping BloodFever will finally reveal who/what Barrons really is, or at least what he isn't. (NT) -- Anny, 21:15:43 12/16/06 Sat
- In Into the Dreaming, it says, "Since the Unseelie king was barred entrance to the human world, he trained his Vengeance to carry out his orders." So anyway, even IF he managed to somehow get into the mortal realm (which with all of the other Unseelie getting out - why not?) the book describes him so oddly, "Some claim [his eyes] had been emptied of matter and pure chaos spooned into the sockets." And, "His shadow moved unnaturally as he rose, slithering around him, wont to move independently of its host." I just can't bring myself to accept that JB is the Unseelie king. I don't know. (NT) -- Kelli Jo, 21:33:11 12/16/06 Sat
- JB the Unseelie King -- Mary, 02:28:09 12/17/06 Sun
- Another thing is that, the Fae's don't age the same way humans do. I believe the Queen was mentioned as being at least 200 years old and the Unseelie king as being even older than her. So, it wouldn't matter how old they are because they don't age like us. I did at first thought he could be the Unseelie king too or maybe secretly working with them. But I don't know, you gotta wait to see what happens in the next book. (NT) -- Anny, 02:35:04 12/17/06 Sun
- I think the King appearing as a mortal in the mortal realm is too, well, blatant. When I read Dreaming he seemed to be far more patient and about ten times more subtle than Aoibhveal, and appearing as a mortal to get things done just doesn't smack me of his style. On the other hand, it was mentioned in early books that he wasn't quite sane so who knows what the King is willing to do? Plus, there's no feeling of nausea what-so-ever around JB by himself. Even before Mac was able to penetrate glamours, she felt nausea around the Unseelie, and all she gets from JB is an electric tingle when they touch. (NT) -- Annaline, 09:45:45 12/17/06 Sun
- Jericho -- Jan, 11:27:14 12/17/06 Sun
- If Jericho were the Unseelie King, wouldn't his touch literally kill Mac? & I think in Into the Dreaming, the Unseelie King is obsessed with the Seelie Queen. I'm kinda thinking she's like his true love or something. I wouldn't want Jericho to be the Unseelie King because I'd like to see him & Mac together =) -- jubs, 14:12:22 12/17/06 Sun

- There are theories going through out the board about why JB doesn't come out in the sun. The reoccuring theory is that he's a vampire (and there are many posts arguing for and against him being a vampire, too). You could say it's one of those questions that keeps coming up and what other questions hinge upon. (NT) -- Annaline, 15:51:58 01/07/07 Sun
- Oh Nancy, we've probably discussed & re-discussed everything here! Some theories are that he's a Vamp, Unseelie, a mix of Unseelie & human, demon, king of shades, etc -- jubs, 02:48:20 01/08/07 Mon
- JB/Sunshine--maybe he has melanoma < sp >? I think his teeth would be a dead (no pun intended) give-a-way if he was a vamp. After all, they can't hide those fangs! Here's another thought: maybe he's light sensitive? I am and have to wear sunglasses A LOT during the whole year. (NT) -- Kira ;), 19:20:21 01/08/07 Mon

Has anyone discussed who this Patrona person that the old woman mentioned is? Could she possibly be Mac and Alina's birth mother or relative? If so, did she maybe know that Mac and Alina were so special that they needed to get out of Ireland when they were born?

I am curious to know if there are male Sidhe- seers because when they are discussed they are always referred to as female. So if they are only female then JB can't be a Sidhe-seer but he is as far as I am concerned he is something otherworldly and he does seem to be in the way he acts and speaks old in the same way as Adam seems old.

- Yet another thought on JB -- Tigger2, 19:23:19 01/04/07 Thu [7]
Has anyone else noticed that when Circenn told Lisa that she was pregnant and that "he will be very special", and then when Mac locates the Spear JB gets annoyed at himself because he did not notice it in the room with all the other stuff and he should have. Almost like he has previous experience with the thing (being the "He" that Circenn is referring to). Perhaps a conection between JB and Circenn, he (Circenn) is the closest we come to another Pict in any of the stories besides JB? Or, again am I reading way to much into it? I tend to do that sometimes........

- Nice theory! My only thought is JB seems to me like he's old. Like not only is he a Pict, but he's was one of the original Picts and is still living for some reason. But it would be great to see Circeen son show up in this, I hadn't even thought that one. Love the Tigger2 too. (NT) -- Jilly, 20:26:16 01/04/07 Thu
- But aren't we told that Circenn's and Lisa's son's only about ten years old in Adam's story whenever he faces off with the Queen and she explains that trying to find Circenn wouldn't have worked anyway since they were vacationing in the Fae Realms? (NT) -- Annaline, 13:52:11 01/05/07 Fri
- Interesting! -- CJ , 11:12:47 01/07/07 Sun
- I, too, have wondered about this. If Circenn and Lisa were vacationing in the Fae realm, we have to remember that time passes more slowly there. Also, the is before the Fae are stuck in present time, so their child could have grown up and then come back to the present time...again all theories. It seems like every time I re-read DF I become even more theory crazy. LOL (NT) -- Rin, 19:37:26 01/07/07 Sun
- I like this theory best! it just seems to fit into what JB is or could be...he has the arrogence of a fae at times, and all the knowlegde. And since he is a decendent of Adam...maybe the fae are obligated to protect him (the cuff)...he could have embraced his fae heritage!!! I hope this is the case :) (NT) -- ailleagan, 20:29:45 01/07/07 Sun
- DF musings... -- Melonie, 13:53:58 01/06/07 Sat [6]
Hello all, just got started on KMM's other MB, and wanted to join in here too - now I have only read DarkFever once, so I need to re-read for details - but here are some things I'd like opinions on - if they have been covered previously, I'm so sorry!
1 - Did anyone else notice that Jericho refuses to touch the spear? Notice how he instructs Mac to handle it when they first find it - even when he helps her kill Gray Man, he "plucks" the tinfoil off the tip - yes, he stabs Gray Man with the spear, but it is clearly noted that Mac's purse is still wrapped around the spear. So did I miss something - or is it true that he never touches it? That has to mean he's something...right?
2 - I picked up on his weird reaction to mercenary too - so I thought he might be a berserker, but he doesn't have the eyecolor for it...
3 - I hadn't thought about it before, but after reading some of the posts, the preface makes me think that Mac does get involved with V'lane...or some other fae...maybe Jericho - if he turns out to be fae - her wording seems to indicate she goes through something, and recovers from it, and KMM mentioned one of her planned titles is "Fae Fever" so....
4 - Finally, on the subject of Jericho - he doesn't ever seem to eat, or really sleep, he has some crazy sexual hold over Fiona, he acts weird about questions anout vampires and he seems older than he appears - so...what do these puzzle pieces mean? I guess we'll just have to wait for more pieces the next book!

- I have only read DF once but now you have me thinking as well. I do beleive JB is definately something, what I am still trying to figure out. I am kind of on the fence about possibly an Unseelie price because they say they are just as beautiful as the Seelie, but I don't know if he quite fits that bill. (NT) -- Cheryle, 14:52:17 01/06/07 Sat
- Who Is JB? He knows who V'Lane is, has a cuff and Torc like the Fae Princes. JB and The Lord Master seemed to recognize each other. Several times has said no one knows the sewer system as well as him. Mac mentions that he looked like a Roman centurion. Didn't the Romans invade Ireland? And weren't they responsible for the first sewer systems. JB mentions the sewers when they rob O'Bannion. He also claims to be a Pict (Basque and Celt). He is not affected by the Shades, by Mac being a Null when she touches him. He will not touch the spear. ....Maybe he is a Druid or maybe he is another Fae Prince that has become human - like Adam. I'm not sure however, the definition of Sidhe-Seer says "a person" not "a woman".... He could be what he claims - a very advanced Sidhe-seer - maybe he is one of the first...He still has to many uneventful interactions with the fae though... Sorry for the rant. (NT) -- Trixie, 23:53:03 01/06/07 Sat
- We have so been there and done that! -- CJ , 10:57:42 01/07/07 Sun
- 1)Theories about the spear have been mentioned somewhere in the quagmire of pages of this message board, more recently then some so a quick skim should give you an answer. 2) And that mercenary thing is really interesting! It's only really come up about once or twice and it's one of the few subjects that seems to leave us all stumped. It's like we all get slack-jawed and can't think of any good theories to explain it. 3) *fast and a bit angry* V'laneisaSlimyGitandIwishthatMacwouldn'tgowithhimbutIthinkshedoesandIthinkitwillbeherbiggestmistakeofherlife! *goes and sobs in the corner* 4) I hope he turns out to be a were! I think that would be cool, but the biggest group to that question would probably be that he's a vampire. (NT) -- Annaline, 16:14:12 01/07/07 Sun

- Yeah i think the publishing company decides the cover, but I'm guessing it would be the 2 main characters. -- jubs, 23:28:25 01/03/07 Wed
- KMM doesn't chose the cover, but she does actually have a say in what the cover is (at least, Neil Gaiman did for the cover of his books). Either it's there to drive us fans nuts, to show that Mac does have the hots for someone, or it captures the feel of the book fairly well. I'd like to think that it's JB, not V'lane. I'd like to think that in the end, even if Mac is stupid enough to hook up with V'lane for a bit, that she ends up with JB. (NT) -- Annaline, 17:20:00 01/04/07 Thu
- Actually I didn't have a say in this cover and lobbied futilely against it. I felt it was misleading and proposed , if nothing else, they put another man on the other side of her and make her a man sandwich. :) The paperback version of Darkfever will have a very different cover. (NT) -- Karen Marie, 19:07:47 01/04/07 Thu
- Hint in Prologue of DF? -- ailleagan, 01:47:34 12/31/06 Sun [5]
In the prologue of DF, when Mac is explaining the situation...on the second page she mentions that if a woman sleeps with a Fae, she becomes a mess. Then is goes on to "it takes a long time for her to recover - but at least she's alive [...] which means a chance to fight another day. to help try to find a way to return our world to what it once was."
- could this be foreshadowing already for the next books? In reading the posts you girls have written...most say "The person Mac chooses turns out to be the bad choice [...] It says that her choice is terribly life altering." So. What if she actually chooses V'lane...gets distracted and messes up, and JB trys to get her back to normal so she can "be alive and recover...to help find a way to return the world" like she was originally doing prior to V'lane? Or. Maybe V'lane and JB are in it together like someone else said - and the McKelter she meets later helps her? So many possibilities! But I thought it was funny that she just HAPPENED to mention that a woman can get messed up from fae sex - and can recover to save the world again....in the prologue (after she experiences things - it may be furture to that book - but a foreshadowing to another!) Or maybe I'm rambling and don't make sense! sorry!

- Dark Fever -- Dawn, 13:15:30 01/02/07 Tue [6]
So I just started the new series and am already anticipantly awaiting Blood Fever. Having completed a plathora of Karen's Highlander novels I have come to realize to realize that not another Para-normal romance author comes close to comparing. Anyone ever read Christine Feehan? I do say, I have never seen one story monotonously retold so many times. Sherriyln Kenyon was alright, but Karen Marie Moning yanks you by the arm and pulls you into her adventures. And by God, her character descriptions make Fabio look like a mutant piece of shit.
But I'm really curious about with this new series is Fio. Was her proir relationship serious with JB? Or was she just meat to eat?

- Hi, Dawn. We've all been speculating their relationship. I don't know, either he knows something about her past and is holding it over her or they were past lovers? Just my thoughts. (NT) -- , 15:57:52 01/02/07 Tue
- Didn't it mention something about Fio "serving" JB? As in.... donating blood? or as in JB is a "king", etc..? What does everyone else think? Somehow, I don't think the realtionship is/was sexual in nature. (NT) -- Lynn (Cat), 23:31:46 01/02/07 Tue
- I think Fiona is the closest thing to a "work associate friend thing" that JB has. She, apparently, has feelings for him and -- perhaps -- may be reading too much into their relationship. She obviously has a wealth of knowledge either in her head or at her fingertaps and knows more about JB than Mac does, and it's probably for her librarian like knowledge awareness that JB keeps her around. (NT) -- Annaline, 17:07:28 01/04/07 Thu
- Alina -- Jan W, 10:50:14 12/31/06 Sun [10]
Does anyone besides me hope that KMM will give us Alina's story? Wouldn't it be great to read about her arrival in Dublin how she met Darroc why she got involved looking for Dark book and how she finally realized she had been betrayed it would be an awesome book.

- Alina -- doris Gomez, 14:35:17 12/31/06 Sun
- I am interested in how Alina got in with Darroc, but on the other hand I don't want to learn too much more because I already know how the story ends ... and it's not a happy ending. I'm one of those people who are disinclined to keep reading after she already knows that ending is going to be bad, I have this feeling that if I just stop reading at a point when everything is good then maybe (just maybe) the character won't ever reach that really bad part. And the end of Alina's story is a really, really bad part. On the other hand, it would be interesting if Mac parallels Alina's poor choice in males (*cough* V'lane-the-Slimy-Git *cough*). (NT) -- Annaline, 18:46:39 12/31/06 Sun
- Alina's book.......I think Karen is going to give snips here and there through the journal. I'd like that better than a whole book on Alina's mishap ;) (NT) -- Kira, 21:03:10 12/31/06 Sun
- Alina's story -- Deborah, 22:40:28 12/31/06 Sun
- I am in agreement, I think a whole book would be wrong as she is already dead, but I do hope that Karen gives us some insight into her life those last few months she had. (NT) -- Terri, 09:23:38 01/01/07 Mon
- You know think when Mac finds Alina's journal (if she finds it) we WILL get Alina's story - in her own words - much as we are getting Mac's story now (NT) -- Kelli Jo, 22:42:59 01/01/07 Mon
- Ideas on whats coming......... -- Tigger2, 19:52:16 01/02/07 Tue [7]
I was just wondering if anyone else was wondering when and how the light hallows are no longer in Circenns care? Is the spear that Mac has not one of the Light hallows? I know he is no longer immortal but he still has his Fae abilities.
On another note, I have run the gambit of trying to figure out who and what JB is and it is giving me a Migrane.......ARGH. So I have turned to more pleasant thoughts.... who from previous stories might we see in the Fever series. I beleive that seeing D & D (the twins) and Cian is highly likey (as they are 3 of the 5 the Queen has chosen). I also think that Circenn could fit into the story as well as Adam, being his wife is a Sidhseer. And I know that we will only see them if it fits into the story but it is still fun to try and figure out where things might go based on where they have been and who we have seen to date in the stories. Does anyone else have these same thoughts?

okay, i just introduced myself on the other board but i have to start asking questions on this one. i've been reading this board since DF came out. but i wondered (so many wonderful posts can't keep them all straight!) if anyone else had caught or mentioned what mac says on page 139 while they're meeting Malluce. "before long I would understand that nothing had been what it seemed that night, and the reason JB had faced off so cooly with the blood sucking master was because he'd gone in with quiet assurance that, no matter what happened, he would walk out alive, and not because he had malluce by the proverbial fiscal balls." So what does that mean to everyone else? btw, i personally love the theory that JB and Vlane are one and the same just night and day.

- Part of them getting out alive was because Jaricho had frozen all of his bank accounts, and if he had killed them. He'd have lost all his money. n/t (NT) -- Nikki, 16:16:13 01/01/07 Mon
- I definitely think it has a lot more to do with JB's "powers" than the fact that he froze the bank accounts of Malluce. I know that JB is very powerful, whatever he is, and he resents the fact (especially at first) that he actually needs Mac's help to locate the Fae items. (NT) -- Lynn (Cat), 18:34:28 01/01/07 Mon
- I agree with Lynn - I don't think his assurance came from the bank account thing - I think he knew he would walk out alive because he couldn't die. We have all mentioned at one time or another that JB seems to have lived a long time - much longer than his 30 or so years. He talks about the blessings of brevity to Mac (I think after the Gray Man kills that woman), like he has first hand experience with the hells of longevity. Anyway, those are my thoughts. I think he was risking Mac's life by taking her to Malluce, but little else, (NT) -- Kelli Jo, 19:30:05 01/01/07 Mon
- I'm still holding out on the hope that JB is a were (werewolf, werepanther, were-doesn't-matter-what) and that he went in there because he has the physical capabilities to handle himself with a mere undead guy. I don't think JB's too worried about vampires, he seems to care more about the idiocies of human beings and the danger of Fae as more important matters toward possible annihilation than a mere blood sucker. - Earlier the ladies have mentioned (as well as the book) about JB's Cuff on his arm - that it resembles the one that V'lane offered Mac...according to the definition - "this cuff can protect you from Unseelie and other...unsavory things" so maybe the cuff shields him from anything "evil (NT) -- ailleagan, 13:01:34 01/02/07 Tue

- transcriptions? -- ailleagan, 23:31:44 12/30/06 Sat [3]
I'm not sure how all these chats work, I'd like to participate eventually...could someone maybe point me in the right direction on how to become involved in them? Also, is there a way I can get a copy of previous transcriptions to catch up for my big debute?! Haha. Any help would be much appreciated!

- another idea? -- ailleagan, 01:59:17 12/31/06 Sun [6]
Since I thought the last post was getting long...it mentioned that the queen had been missing. In INTO it mentioned that the queen manipulated things, and placed almost like - directors for humans. What if the old woman in DF is Aoibheal hiding in human form? She's stunned that Mac is a Sidhe-seer because (as in previous stories) she didn't know they were still around) then tries to learn as much about her as she can to get her to help her (aoibheal) regain control...or...the old woman could be another Sidhe-seer or Null (since she also says in the prologue, that there are pleanty of them around) - maybe they all unite and togther help? just another random thought...

- Wild Women Chat! -- Cayla, 22:22:01 12/29/06 Fri [8]
I can't wait until tomorrow night for the Wild Women chat! Unfortunately, though, I'll be pretty late so I hope you girls will chat for a very long time. We're having a bowl game party here for our game at 8 pm EST, but if y'all chat for a while, hopefully I'll be able to catch a little bit of the conversation. I'll probably go ahead and sign on messenger so that I can read over whatever I miss. Regardless, I'm definitely enjoying my reread of Immortal!

Does anyone think that maybe that Barrons might be Prince V'lane in hiding? He doee make Mac feel strange sometimes, and seems to have some kind of abilities. I don't remember him saying that he was an actual Sidhe-seer. Thanks...:)

- Chat -- Libby, 18:44:29 12/30/06 Sat [2]
Sorry, this is last minute. I realized I hadn't officially posted anything about our chat tonight, and I wanted to let everyone know we ARE going to have it! 9pm EST.
Because it takes a LOT of time to edit and send out the transcripts, what we'll do is post some of our most interesting stuff on the board in the morning instead. Now everyone who wasn't able to make it will have the opportunity to add to the discussion. I wish everyone could make it!
Um, I think that's it! Everyone have a fun Saturday night!
XOXOXO
Libby

I'm new and haven't read thru everything on the board...BUT has anyone made a connection between the Seelie Queen's disappearance in DF and her descent into the Unseelie rhelm in INTO and her readying her Druids for her rescue at the end of SPELL? Or is that too much to ponder? It all seems to fit together somehow even though INTO was written some time ago.

- MAC -- JAN W, 17:48:46 12/29/06 Fri [4]
First Happy Holidays to all. I was reading Darkfever for the seventh time and wondered if we were ever given any hint at how old Mac's parents are they didn't sound really old when described. The reason I bring this up is because on page 230 when Mac is talking to the woman in charge of records at Christ hospital she had no record of any Lane being born during the past fifty years so where do all the family members come from ? Mac stated they were a large family and wanted to know how they had kept the adoption secret. Surely some other member of the Lane family would have been born during Fifty years. Where did these people come from amd how did they get Mac and Alina?

- Dublin -- , 11:34:53 12/28/06 Thu [7]
I'm watching a Passport to Europe marathon on the Travel Channel. They just finished Dublin where the host on the show went to Temple Bar district! I watched all the pubs she went past and listened to her and the others talk about Ireland. They will be doing Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Highlands sometime today. I wish the programs were more than 30 min long. I've watched the ones on Ediburgh and Glasgow enough that I feel like I know the places well.

- I love Passport to Europe, Debbie! I'm Tivo-ing a show right now on the History channel about two Scottish castles in America, and I'll have to let you know how that show is. Have you seen Rick Steve's Europe on PBS? That's another good one. One of them has a 5 minute scene at the very end with lots of brawny laddies in kilts tossing the cabre. OMG, the testosterone is enough to wipe out the power in a small city! (NT) -- Libby, 18:34:49 12/28/06 Thu
- Oh, Libby, haven't seen that one!! I did see the Passport on Highlands about an hour ago, now waiting on Edinburgh. The first glimpse of kilted laddies for me will be the first weekend of April at the Medieval faire! I feel like a Mrs. Robinson when I see all of those college guys running around without shirts, kilts, swords and long hair. Plus the Rogues will be on stage. More men in kilts playing bagpipes and drums!! Next will be late April, then some in May and then the big one in Arlington, TX for three days of kilts, Scottish accents and heat! And always the hope for a breeze at each*BWEG* (NT) -- , 19:24:02 12/28/06 Thu
- Mrs. Robinson? LOL. I want to be you when I grow up! I love the ones in Colorado because we have all sorts of yummy, rugged mountain men here. So when their muscly, bronzed goodness steps into the sun half naked...hang on. I have to go take a cold shower. (NT) -- Libby, 11:29:35 12/29/06 Fri
- I love shows like this where I can travel for free! Its probably the only way I can see my fav dream vacation spots so I try to catch them when they come on TV. (NT) -- strawzenberry, 15:55:49 12/29/06 Fri
- Passport to Europe -- Tessa, 22:50:43 12/29/06 Fri
- Tessa, it was great! I had seen it 4 or 5 times. She stays in Dingwall and visits Inverness. Then she went to a farm to see the Highland Cows. She also visited Loch Ness. The scenery was magnificent. I just wish she had touched upon Culloden and some other castles. (NT) -- , 10:09:10 12/30/06 Sat
- After reading the synopsis of Bloodfever -- Annaline, 00:06:34 12/27/06 Wed [11]
Greetings and Salutations y'all! Sorry I've been absent (being sick the week of Christmas is horrid). Anyway, so in the midst of a feverish haze (no pun intended just God's truth) I was much delighted to get the newest newsletter. Thus:
Who will Mac choose at the end of BF? The synopsis, what with claiming V'lane's turning off the sex and on the charm and JB behaving irratically, made it seem as though she chooses V'lane? What do y'all think? Will she go with V'lane or JB?
Myself, I'm really hoping for her to be with JB. *sniffles* I really, really don't want it to be V'lane ... if it is I'll probably go in the corner and cry. I'm so much more anxious about getting BF now!

- V'lane / JB & who is lord master... -- Tracey, 06:49:20 12/27/06 Wed
- OK but look at what Karen doesn't say. The person Mac chooses turns out to be the bad choice. So if Mac decides to join V'lane's team that means that Jericho is the "right choice", and I'm pretty sure she would fight to get back to him (and I'd just bet that he would be trying to get her back to safety too. Even if he won't admit that he likes her). And on the other hand, if she turns down V'lane and sticks with JB, that could mean that JB is just bad news, and in that case we need to round up the members of the Good Girls Who Love Bad Boys support group STAT! (NT) -- Libby, 10:12:20 12/27/06 Wed
- HELP NEED NEWSLETTER -- Jenny (:)), 11:55:40 12/28/06 Thu
- All I know is I want her to end up with JB. If she has to go get caught up with V'lane for that to happen then I'm willing to deal with that. LOL (NT) -- strawzenberry, 12:46:05 12/28/06 Thu
- There are hints in DF that Mac personally knows the downside of hooking up w/a Fae and how it required losing a piece of her soul to survive the outcome! I do believe she hooks up w/ V'lane, but only long enough to realize what a horrible mistake that was! I think she is meant to be w/ JB, no matter how odd his behavior gets...after all I know more than a few men who get flaky when their carefully constructed wall start to crumble and they begin to experiance emotions they would rather have under lock and key! JB is such a control freak...I could see him getting weird when he starts to realize he is falling for Mac! (NT) -- Tammy, 10:35:57 12/29/06 Fri
- I did note the bit about Mac's world taking a turn for the worse ... but when I thought of what she'd be facing anyway I figured that with either one she'd have a turn for worse. Just that with V'lane it would be worse than usual. I guess I'm just a member of V'lane Is A Slimy Git Club. (NT) -- Annaline, 18:54:47 12/29/06 Fri
- Oh please NO! V'lane tried to rape her in a museum. Surely, that would be enough to keep her far, far away from him. Can't it? (NT) -- Jilly, 21:25:10 12/29/06 Fri
- Just for fun... -- Libby, 11:48:08 12/23/06 Sat [11]
I don't know about you, but after this month my brain is fried! So how about a fun and easy poll? Don't worry, it's nothing hard, I promise. What is everyone's favorite part (or quote) in Darkfever?

- Oh lord I have to pick just one!!!!!! Alright I have to think about this...I think one of my fav parts is when he goes that first night to visit her room. I think I like this part so much because later when he's telling her to look more grown up he refers to how her hair had looked that night and how she should where it like that. (Mac calls it bed-head) I think this shows that he may have been a little mad at himself that night because he had found her attractive seeing her that way and thats why he ended up being so intense that night. (NT) -- strawzenberry, 14:01:56 12/23/06 Sat
- My favorite quote is when Mac says, "I'd never had any desire to save the world. Decorate it? Yes. Save it? No." (NT) -- Kelli Jo, 14:28:28 12/23/06 Sat
- That would have to be the scene where Mac and J.B are getting ready to leave for Malluce's and she says, " '...But if you call me your latest piece of petunia again or make uncalled-for references to my mouth and oral sex with you, you and I are through.' He raised a brow. ' Petunia, Ms. Lane?' I scowled. 'Ass, Barrons.' " That just cracked me up! (NT) -- Rin, 14:32:45 12/23/06 Sat
- I agree that was one of my favorite parts as well. But I get the most kick out of J.B. painting Mac's nails. I just love the fact that he can be sweet sometimes. (NT) -- Terri, 07:13:04 12/24/06 Sun
- V'lane - baby ! Whoopsy - my clothes fell off!! (NT) -- Sue Z., 10:59:27 12/26/06 Tue
- I like the part where, right after Malluce throws Mac into the wall and -- for the only time in the book -- JB screams out: "MAC!!" That's my favorite (and the petunia bit my second favorite). (NT) -- Annaline, 23:50:08 12/26/06 Tue
- I have a three-way tie: I loved it when JB caught himself ogling her breastages when they bounced on the railroad track. And I second Annaline's choice when JB yells "Mac!". My extra fave is the nail-painting though. He sort of made up for his earlier shenanigans with that one. (NT) -- Libby, 10:28:55 12/27/06 Wed
- All of those parts are really good too! I told you I didn't want to pick just one. I just picked one of the first ones.LOL (NT) -- strawzenberry, 19:02:00 12/27/06 Wed
- My fave is just a bit after Rin's. When JB asks Mac, "Am I to understand there are called-for references to your mouth and oral sex with me, Ms. Lane? I'd love to hear them." (NT) -- Jilly, 21:34:47 12/29/06 Fri
- Jericho????? -- Michelle, 08:09:33 12/18/06 Mon [18]
I was reading Dark Highlander this weekend and I read something that was interesting.
I believe on Page 16 it was talking about the Druid Sect of the Draghar. The Leader, Simon, was saying that (and dont quote me on this becasue I dont have my notes in front of me) he had been awaiting for the fulfillment of the prophecy since the day of his initiation into the inner Sanctum of the Order, 32 years ago, which coincided with the birth of his first son.
32 is a good age for Jericho, is it not????????? The Sect is of Druid decent, so he would know of the ways of the Druids (healing spells, the Voice, etc.,)but because of his family linkage the Shades would be afraid of him, and the Master would be suprised to see him on the opposite side (Their perplexed looks in the Wharehouse).
My guess so far is that Jericho is on the good side, but after reading this, I am starting to believe that maybe he is torn because of his family backgroung (if this theory holds true) and what is right.
Sorry if this has been mentioned and I have not finished reading DH so I may find something that would refute this, but I figured I would throw this out there.

- I absolutely agree that this is a HUGE possibility! We talked about it at our last chat, and it's something I'm keeping at the top of my imaginary pile as I read. If you're ever interested in joining, we're reading Immortal Highlander for Jan 30th. (NT) -- Libby, 09:58:52 12/18/06 Mon
- Simon's last name is Barton-Drew. JB could have changed his last name..... As for Aoibheal's five Druids we know that three of them are Cian, Dageus and Drustan. Might it be possible that the other 2 are Dagus and Drustan's youner twin brothers or their descendants... Silvan and Nell also had a set of twin Keltar boys.... (NT) -- Trixie, 13:26:44 12/18/06 Mon
- Also, when Dageus is chained to the pillar and "releases" the Draghar we are lead to believe that all members of the sect present were killed. We must assume then that Simon and his two sons had been killed at that time since his sons were the ones that kidnapped Chloe from outside the castle in Scotland and brought her to the Belthew building in England where Simon had captured Dageus....therefore the theory that I pose, is that JB is NOT Simon's son. (NT) -- Trixie, 17:54:06 12/18/06 Mon
- Nice theory! 32 is definitely a good age for Jericho. Bartons & Barons are pretty close =P -- jubs, 23:56:55 12/18/06 Mon
- Wow, good eye! I didn't even catch that little detail. Very good possibility. (NT) -- Anny, 00:42:40 12/19/06 Tue
