Subject: OK. something new I came across in the afterword of Dark...
The message is addressed to 'Dear Reader' from KMM, the timeframe is 2003. I'd originally intended to start next on Adam Black's story but I find myself temporarily detoured into another story... Here're a few ingredients of the work in progress: a stubborn, intelligent herione who gets drawn into a quest against her will when she comes into possession of a most unusual artifact; a powerful, mysterious, darkly sexual Highlander is trying to help her ... or kill her ...; and a fascinating mystery, the key to which has been hidden for centuries in an ancient Scottish chapel.

This sound like Mac to me - stubborn and intelligent (Mac is pretty smart even though she talks about fashion all the time.) Drawn into a quest against her will - well, she could always have gone home to Georgia, but I accept that she believes she got drawn into against her will. Powerful. Mysterious. Darkly sexual Highlander - now that sounds like any of KMM's heroes, but only Dageus, Cian, and JB are 'darkly' sexual. (Am I wrong about that?) And maybe only JB is that way, because Cian was 'dark' in a different way, and she'd already written about Dageus. Tyring to help her or kill her... I'm re-reading Darkfever now and counting how many times JB threatens to kill Mac. ...comes into possession of a most unusual artifact??? As soon as Mac got The Spear (which she felt she was tricked into taking, and killed O'Bannion, then she felt she was drawn into the situation against her will. So maybe it all fits, and there is a fantastic clue there about the location of the Sinsar Dubh!

I havent read all of the posts, but am wondering if anyone knows how the Keltar line continued without a child from Cian? Was the Druid lineage past through a cousin? They all look alike. Drusgan, Dageus, Christopher, and Cian.
Anyone thoughts?

Maybe we just don't know about them yet, Christopher & Maggie and their children (any boys-can't remember) were a suprise to me. Were there any cousins anywhere? I guess I need to go back and read the series for the fourth time but this time read between the love scenes. LOL The depth of the involvement between the stories is amazing to me!! I am gaining a new respect for Karen's ability as an author. I am going to read the entire series keeping in mind the theories from the board and that they aren't just love stories, but what love stories!! I had to get to Darkfever before I realized that!! May just be slow:) Aren't the fae & the Druids going to have to work together again to rid earth of the unseelie? It would be great to see the Keltars, Adam, Cin or(dream big)Grimm & Hawk fight together (can only be 5-what a pity all that prime warrior flesh, powers, and minds working together WHEW!!!) I love the board ladies, makes me get the brain in gear!

Christopher and this children were descended from Silvan and Nell. But I am not sure what Druid beliefs were taught to them. At one time Silvan decided not to hand down the legacy to his new son.

Well, I sort of thought it referred to Cian, too. But, I also thought the 'mysterious chapel' was likely Rosslyn chapel, and we haven't been there yet. So, I'm not sure.
Rosslyn chapel has lots of legends surrounding it about the Knights Templar, Freemasons, the Magdalen, the da Vinci Code, etc. Didn't Circenn 'help' when the Templars fell? And Aoibheal send out Faery when the battle of Bannockburn(I think. Or maybe Stirling.) arose? To help save Scotland, because they had an 'interest' in seeing Scotland prevail. (And if so, why not help at Culloden,, dang it?!?) What if the treasure of the Templars, hidden in Scotland is one or more of the Hallows? Seelie and Unseelie?
I also recall somehwere, maybe on the site, Karen telling Darroc, who was nagging about his story being written, 'No, freaking way, Darroc!'
I had the impression that JB knew O'Bannion had the Spear, and had not bothered to collect it for reasons unlcear -- he's more focused on the Book, maybe. But once he had Mac to contend with, and protect, he collected it for her. But he had to have her help, because (Mac thought) he couldn't sense it himself.
Stay tuned. BTW, yes kids are better, garden is planted, and now we're boooooooored, Mom! LOL.
