Ok. I am going out on a limb here and making a prediction on V'lane.
I think that V'lane is really an Unseelie Price. I believe this becuase the only Fae that Mac has encountered to date, have been the Unseelie (the ugly ones)and all of a sudden a Fae Prince comes and offers her some gift to help her. But when he was offering it to her, he stated that the Cuff of Cruce was given to his human concubine. When JB was explaining the divisions of the Fae, he stated that the Seelie was ruled by the Queen and her sanctioned Consort and the Unseelie was ruled by the Unseelie King and his concubine. Not the keyword in V'lane's statement; HIS concubine.
Why elsse would V'lane have a gift formally used by the Unseelie king. Didnt Barrons also mention that Unseelie objects (especially the Sinsar Dubh) we evil and would change the person or seriously cause harm to the person?
Good thinking. I'm not quite sure I agree with that reading of the passage about the Cuff of Cruce, but you made me think. Now I think that there are two other clues that V'Lane is an Unseelie Prince:
1) In the museum, he asks Mac what they stole from O'Bannion. They knew she stole something, just not what it was. One way that 'they' might have learned those facts - namely the fact that there was a theft and not what was stolen, is if the 'Rhino Boys' that were staking out O'Bannion's place worked for the same outfit as V'Lane. The rhino boys would know that something was afoot, but probably not what it was.
2) When she pulls out the spear, he vanished right away. He didn't say - oh, good! You seem to have something to protect yourself with now, and won't be needing the Cuff of Cruce after all.
