The problem with October is it's too long of a wait between books. You forget or stop caring one way or the other about the characters. You have to rebuild the momentum to read a second or third book after waiting a year in between so it becomes a who cares after a while. Nora Roberts did a smart thing by releasing her Silence series within months of each other. Kept things interesting. KMM needs to look into that.
