Date Posted: 21:39:49 10/31/06 Tue Kidd & team - I am horrified.... not because it is Halloween, but, because I no longer have you to listen to as I get ready for work, on my way to work, and after I arrive at work here in Memphis. What the heck???!?!?!?!?!?! I new the radio station went bonkers over the weekend -- I didn't really care because the 80's weekends aren't my favorite part of 94.1 The Buzz. However, I had a gnawing feeling that something terrible was about to happen but I didn't want to believe it. On Monday when I woke up and turned on the radio and the 'countdown' on 94.1 was down to a few hours, I thought, okay - it's some weird FCC thing and you'll be on tomorrow morning. I was still trusting that my world would not - could not - be turned upside down. But, on Tuesday morning when I turned on the radio and heard a new 'name'... what is it? Snap? And I didn't hear the normal pop music and WORSE YET... No Kidd, (Kelly) and Al - my heart truly sunk! I am a normal, sane, professional female. I relocated here about a year ago and my daughter (who lives in Wichita) turned me on to all of you when you went live here last year. I fell in love with your show and have listened to you every day (with the exception of the few days at a time that I travel for work and can't locate you in the small towns I travel to.) I went to the Memphis in May music fest,,, just to see you all and you were great! I absolutely adore Big Al and would love to hang out with him.... what a fun and silly guy! You all make my day - make me laugh - and truly lightened an otherwise pretty somber and serious job I find myself performing day in and day out. You had become my family and friends in this new 'home' for me and now you are gone. I am so very sad! I'll listen on the computer while I get read for work and turn y'all on when I get to work... I'll plug in one of my CD's on the way to work because there is absolutely no other station worth listening to in Memphis now (I tried the search button today over lunch and found absolutely nothing of interest music-wise.) So.... keep us posted. I am seriously considering relocating to Dallas in the hopes that you will not be canceled in your 'home' city! Ha! :O) Your fan always!! |

Here are the results: To whom it may concern: I just wanted you to know that I do not even listen to secular music (I listen to K-love, the Contemporary Christian music station), but I tune in to wherever Kidd Kraddick is going to be on. The show is so funny, and family friendly. I moved to Memphis in March, and personally don't think any of the stations here are very good, but Kidd makes it worth listening to. I wonder if all of your expensive research told you how wildly popular KKITM is. I will never listen to your station, the Buzz, or Snap, or whatever as long as you take off Kidd. Just for the record, I have friends in the number of at least 50 or 60 from my church that only listen to Kidd, and then change the station, so I am not alone. Kidd Kraddick in the Morning was the only reason I started listening to 94.1 The Buzz, and then I kept listening in the afternoons because I liked Brad and Dana, the "journal", etc. I finally got through to the station today to find out what's happened, and they said they're bringing in all new personnel and that Brad and Dana were gone, and that Kidd Kraddick in the Morning was gone, too! I just can't believe that I'll have to go back to listening to either FM 100 or 104.5 in the mornings now -- bring back Kidd and the Gang!!!!!!!!! |

I really wish there was something we could do to bring you back. I looked forward to hearing some crazy "dating" story from Big Al, some corny food bit from JC, details about Kelly and Emma - lest I forget the mommy test!!!, and of course Kidd -- I enjoy hearing stories about Caroline and your trials of being a parent of a teen-aged daughter as I have two, you've been very helpful without even knowing it!! For me, the one thing that slowed down the chaos was listening to the Kidd Kraddick in the morning show every morning on my way to work or school. I am about to graduate with a degree in business and I don't think it would even take any type of college education to realize that this was a brainless move. You don't swap anyone's coffee with some hot chocolate and you don't switch anyone's tobacco for some alfalfa sprouts. Why should a morning drive be any different? thanks to everyone on the show for sharing your lives and letting the rest of us know that you guys are normal and have all the problems and happy moments we do. you really know how to find humor in the weirdest things which i think would make everyone's day that much better if they saw the bright side. disclaimer: that doesn't mean i am going to try to see the bright side of the show being off the air. |

Consider this as my request to put KK back on the air in Memphis, somewhere, if not on Snap 94.1. I like the new Snap format, and anyone who thinks it's that radically different from the old Buzz (except for weekends), you're nuts, but regardless of anyone's personal opinion of the station, KK would definitely fit in as a morning show on this format. Well they just lost tons of listeners to 94.1 The SNAP or CRAP or whatever they call it. I LOVE Kidd, he is so funny and so witty and theri is no one elso like him in radio. Kelly, you are great!!! You say everything I am thinking and saying outloud to myself in the car. I cried when I found out you were finally pregnant and then cried again when Emma Kelly was born on Oct. 19 which is also my husbands birthday. I thought it was great! Big Al, you crack me up and I love your lady mackin' ways! I will miss ya'll more than you know and will bug the hell out of every station that will listen until ya'll are back on in Memphis. My days are ruined now that I cannot hear ya'll every morning. There is absolutely NO good station in Memphis, except KIX 106, but their morning show doesn't even come close to comparing to ya'll. Something must be done to bring back Kidd Kraddick. I am devastated! |

Kidd Kraddick made my mornings. I cracked up the whole way to work and looked forward to hearing the crew EVERY morning. Kidd, Kelly , and Big Al are spontaneous and hilarious. They have the best morning show I have heard, in fact I think every station should pick up Kidd Kraddick in the morning to give their listeners some fun and excitement. The closest city to Memphis that picks up Kidd Kraddick is in Tupelo MS. and their population is a lot lower than Memphis, what's up with that?? Bring Kidd Kraddick back to 94.1 or any other station that is willing to pick them up. SNAP 94.1 will never be on my radio station, it's awful!!!!! (I miss Journal girl updates too, the Buzz could have at least told us what happens to her instead of just ending the show leaving us all wondering!)I am an angry listener form Memphis and will not be pleased until I hear Kidd, Kelly and Big Al in my car every morning!! I listen to you guys every morning and you're the only reason I ever walk into work with a smile on my face. When I turned the radio on Monday morning, I was in shock and my boyfriend even aksed me if I was going to cry. I didn't but I wanted to. I have to say that it tollk me a while to warm up to you gys when I found out you weren't local, but the more I listened, the more I laughed and I have learned to care for each an everyone of you. I don't have a good morning show to listen to now. PLEASE, if you go onto any other station, e-mail me. I will keep up with you guys on the website. And just so you know, you are my office's FAVORITE morning show. You always (as Big Al would say) have us laughing on the way to work! I have never listened to a morning show in my life until one day my wife recomended Kidd's show on the Buzz the first week it started in Memphis. I listened once and was hooked. I have faithfully listened everyday since as long as possible. I even listen to as much as I can here on the website incase I miss anything. I would do almost anything to get this show back. I really miss the Buzz. It was the only station I listened to - especially the 25 songs in a row at night. But what I'll miss most is Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. I called the buzz number to complain and got the crapy "Snap" station. The guy acted like it was no big deal. Whatever. This is a HUGE deal. I'll never listen to this station. I pray we get Kidd back. Do we even have a top 40 station in Memphis at all anymore?? |

I wouldn't mind knowing if the corporate owners had the courtesy of letting you or their own staff know ahead of time about the change. Here's what happened for those aren't in the know...The radio group that owns 104.5 the river, what was 94.1 the buzz and the progressive talk radio acquired some memphis stations that were owned by another group, which happens to own stations such as 93x, FM100, etc. I see it now as they are downsizing their operation and I don't know if they plan to totally merge facilities but they may as well considering that 104.5 is now the only one in the buying group to staff on-air talent as far as I can tell (listen closely, you will not hear a real person, just "liners") I saw in a previous post that some FM100 morning jocks got booted, possibly in favor of picking up a syndicated program come January (when new contracts begin). IF THIS IS THE CASE...those of us in Memphis need to contact FM100 and basically say we will listen if they get Kidd Kraddick, the more the better. I'd say start now, just call and say we want Kidd and it should be cake. |

When I went to lunch is when I noticed that my radio station had changed. I called and spoke to a guy that told me the news. He asked for me to give it a chance and I told him that I just could not do it. Kidd Kraddick show was something that my kids and I could listen together while going to school. I did not have to worry about someone saying something inappropriate. They are fun loving, silly and just all around great to listen to. On the way home I loved listening to Brad/Dana and catching up with Mike on the gossip and hearing about the journal girl. I loved the fact that I could expect to hear a variety of music and not just the same top 10-15 songs over and over. Please, please bring back the buzz. |

I would keep a radio on upstairs and down. If I ran up, I could still hear what was going on. If I pulled into the garage and the the hizzle was on, I would sit in the car until it was finished, then race inside and turn on a radio so that I didn't miss anything else. Does that make me CrAzY?? I WON'T go back to mediocrity, which is what everything else in Memphis is. I'll listen online until another station picks you up. So you can imagine my suprise when I turned on 94.1 one day and I heard Kidd, Kelly and Big Al doing what they do best!!!! From that time forward the Memphis morning drive got a lot more bearable. This morning I woke up to a countdown to some new radio format that said it would be "GREAT" It was just some watered down music that I could download myself. I don't know what I am going to do. My computer at work is formatted so we can not listen live to the radio. Does anyone have any ideas? I know that Kelly just had her baby(Kelly, she is so beautiful, congratulations) and hearing about Kidd's Kids and Big Al's weekly bar happenings, I don't want to miss it all! |

The afternoon's were good with the move of Brad and Dayna, the mornings were finally GREAT with Kidd Kraddick! Now they are gone! Date Posted: 11:48:40 10/31/06 Tue I've been listening to KKM since 1994 (while in Waco and Dallas). When I moved to Memphis in 2003 I truly missed listening to them. It was so good to have them in the Memphis market for the past few months. While I understand that this format change is a "business decision", the station will find it's not a very good one. The format is not strong enough to survive in the Memphis market. That is not to say the THE BUZZ was the answer, but SNAP is definitely a mistake. I haven't seen the numbers, but I would imagine Kidd Kraddick was an improvement to morning drive. Whoever the powers that be are listening to/consulting with about switching from Buzz to Snap (AND consequently dropping KKM) are making an expensive, idiotic mistake. With that said, what is the liklihood that: 1) these posts are going to get read by the right people to put this morning show back on the 94.1 frequency, or 2) get kidd on another station in Memphis? Guaranteed... whatever station picks Kidd up will earn a loyal fan base... black, white, red, yellow, or otherwise. |

Several posted messages talk about how Memphis is 70% african american and thus the radio stations must follow the majority. But where does that leave the rest of the population. All broadcast stations, radio,tv, etc...should be diversified. We already have stations that play rap, jazz, classic rock, etc. What is left for those of us who like Snow Patrol and Rob Thomas? I guess we have to resort to buying IPods and downloading music, which conveniently works out for Macintosh . Of course, it also encourages people to illegally download music too, since they can't hear it on the radio. None of this helps with the morning show which is what will be missed the most. And again, we can still catch it online for those of us who are lucky enough to have a computer (most,once again, Macintosh!). There is too much said and done in the world today that is politically or racially slanted. And taking off a very good radio station to change to something that better suits 70% of the population and just ignoring the other 30% falls into that. This is not a race issue, per say. I work in an environment that is extremely multi-cultural and I enjoy everything that comes with that. I am open to a wide array of music and I even enjoy some of the songs that are now being played on the new Snap94.1. But is still doesn't change the fact that because the "white" population is dwindling in Memphis, does not mean that we don't deserve to have a good radio station that talks about the things that we enjoy. |

Although Memphis has a higher population of Blacks that is not the true reason the show was cancelled. I am a Black female and I live in Dallas, Texas. I have listened to the show since 1995. I love the show and I laugh because of the "intelligent comedy" as I call it. However, Kidd makes several generalizations and sterotypes about Blacks. For example, I have heard him several times mimic someone using various slang terms and refer to that as "talking Black." Big Al just goes along with it and even agrees or encourages the generalizations. He also always asks what each caller does for a living. This practice might be discouaraging to a potential Black caller. Most "Black" radio stations only ask what is your name, age, and city that the individual is calling from. I think I have heard him mention people "talking black" and while it's true you can't talk a color, that particular style of speaking did come from somewhere and I doubt it was Europe. Would it better if he said, "speaking with an African accent/dialect"? It might be, but is it really necessary? Do we have to be perfectly PC about everything? As far as asking what people do for a living...I don't see the big deal. Are people supposed to feel ashamed for what they do for a living? Unfortunately alot of people dont understand how it works. Radio is reflective of the major consumer of its location. If the major consumer is african-american, you will be flooded with rap stations, R&B, and all that other stuff that most southern white people cannot stand to hear. Memphis is like 70% african american, which means about 70% of our local stations will be catering to their likes. for the audience that enjoys Kraddick and other more "white friendly" stations, i would suggest satellite radio. radio is very similar to tv. the local stations just wont have much to offer one day, other than public broadcasting, news and specific marketing programs like what we are starting to see now. The Kidd Kraddick morning show is the one bright thing about the morning radio here and for it to be gone is truly saddening. The disappointing alternatives range from: 107.5 Karson and Kennedy – Karson’s stuttering gets worse when he’s nervous, he often rants about things that are not interesting OR are hurtful, Kennedy laughs at her own jokes, and their side-kick sounds drunk and rarely has anything worth-while to say. To top it off, the awkward silences on this station are just plain painful! 98.1 Drake and Zeke – they are ok, a little to redneck at times, and all they do is read and re-read the most random news. I’d like them better IF they could speak with proper grammar and loose the vulgar commentary between sentences. It’s not so amusing when I’ve only been awake for 20 minutes. 102.7 I’m not sure who their morning radio show is – it’s so boring that I only seem to last with them for about 3 minutes before I tune out 104.5 I’m equally not sure who their morning show is because – their play list is more my moms age group so I can’t stomach their station until late evening (if even that) 99.7 I like the music on this station but the DJ’s don’t talk enough. KKITM, if I was you and wanted to market to a specific station, I think this is your best bet. The DJ’s here are ok and they don’t spend a lot of time chatting so I end up turning the station. In the morning I want KKITM and as much as I hate it in the morning, I’ll chose NPR or my iPod over the alternatives when I’m in the car and don’t have internet access. |

I have been listening online this week but I will not always be able to do this. My kids & I are really missing the Kidd Kraddick In The Morning show with Kidd, Kellie & Al. We have laughed our heads off so many mornings while taking my two High Schooler's to school and then my elementary son listens on the way home and on his commute to school. It was something that all of us listened to with a wide age range. It sucks that we have lost the only station we have ever listened to since moving to Memphis 3 years ago today. It really sucks that we will no longer get your show either. While at home in Montana this summer I heard you every morning on the station I listen to at my parents house. It was awesome to know we got you here & in Bozeman, MT but now we no longer get you. WE WANT YOU BACK....PLEASE HELP US!!!!!! I flipped through the stations one day and heard Kidd, Kellie, and AL and was hooked. I have been listening to the station for the past year, and have stopped listening to everyone else. Taking you guys off the air was, simply put, a stupid business move. You don't remove a proven product with a clear target audience and replace it with a mishmash of sheer crap. I tried to listen to the new station this morning, so relieved in my mistaken belief that my station had returned. It took all of ten minutes before I turned it off. Sorry, I hate to judge anyone prematurely, but what I heard sucked. I wish everyone with the Buzz all the best, and will stay on the lookout to see if you guys get to come back. Hopefully, the so-called managers and business people will come to their senses; in the meantime, guess I'll follow Taylor's lead and dig out my old cds to listen to in the car, because there's no other station I'm interested in listening to! |

Date Posted: 08:07:52 10/31/06 Tue What is up with Memphis. All of a sudden 94.1 The Buzz changes to Snap 94.1 and they're playing EVERYTHING!! Yesterday I heard them go from Pink to Barry White. Disturbing to say the least. Kidd, you guys can come broadcast from my upstairs if you want. Like Dan said about OK above....yet another reason to dislike Memphis. |

The station format before was great and now they've taken away the only good show on in the morning in my opinion. It was great to listen to the morning show on the way into work. I think the radio in this city just sank to a new low. BRING BACK KIDD IN THE MORNING, MEMPHIS RADIO NEEDS IT!!!! |

I listened every morning on my way to work. I have a 45 minute drive and yall kept me laughing all the way. How on earth am I supposed to keep up with Kellie and the baby, Big Al's love life or lack of, Taylor's internship, JC's whatever he does, Shannon, Amy's daughter and let's not forget Kidd. This is just not fair.....Please bring them back..............We miss yall!!!!!!!!! |

I was driving home from work Friday afternoon, and all of a sudden this electronic voice started counting down...then at 10:00 Monday morning I tune in to see what's there...nothing interesting to say the least. I'm not sure what their target market is now, but I'm definitely not part of it!! Lame, lame, lame! Now I can't listen to Kidd and everyone on my drive to work. There are no morning shows in Memphis that can begin to compare with Kidd Kraddick and his crew. There are also no stations that play the music I enjoy listening to. I wonder if they will listen to us though? Thank heavens I can listen on the internet, but my drive to work will not be the same... |

I live almost 2 hours away from that city, but I have to drive up pretty frequently because my daughter has to see Dr's in that city. Being able to listen to my favorite morning show is very comforting when you are scared because your daughter is about to go through a test or procedure. I would like to think they would add it back to the venue, but if they don't, just know that they will lose many loyal listeners. Love your show!!!! |

I lived in Kansas most of my life, and I was so sad when I had to move to Tennessee and leave my enjoyable morning time with the Kraddick bunch. I was so excited when 94.1 picked up Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. I was so confused when I turned on 94.1 today, and "Two Ligit to Quit" by MC Hammer was on instead of the Kraddick good morning. The entire Memphis area misses our Kidd Kraddick in the morning! |

Date Posted: 08:03:45 10/31/06 Tue I am devastated! I know that sounds inappropriately emotional over a radio show, but that is how I feel. I was attached to everyone on the show. This was the only morning show in Memphis that was both entertaining and family friendly. I drive 30 minutes to take my son to school and then another 30 to work and now I have NOTHING to listen to. As soon as I get to work I start the live stream, but by then I have missed 3 hours of the show. I want it back! What happened? |
