[> Subject: Very nice speech from Bebe Shopp about love, tolerance. If she is celebrating her 75th anniversary and she was only 17 or so when she won she has to be at least 90. Very well done.

[> Subject: SII Group 1-SD was the standout here, talking about childhood cancer. Very articulate, convincing, and passionate. LA was good as well, about speaking kindly to self and others. MD also good with writing competency, convincing and passionate.

[> Subject: Talent group 1-nobody really stood out except MS and she sang Rise Up, which is hard to do because you are always comparing to the original.. UT good enough classical ballet, but not overwhelming. The best besides that was probably ND singing a songwriter/singer version of Somebody To Love, AZ clogging. I highly doubt a prelim winner in this group.

[> Subject: This is the shit you put up with when you stream an event. Anyone thinking this is a better solution than cable TV needs their head examined. The pageants from the 1950s never had such trouble with rudimentary transmissions.

[> Subject: Ironically, it froze and says "Now what?" behind Miss OH. The reason I am irritated is because if this happens tonight it could happen Thursday night. And what will they do? Stop the competition until it is resolved? This is fine for a small, non-consequential pageant but this is really not good.

How do you rip off a 2 1/2 minute routine in 90 seconds. Come on. It’s clogging
[> [> [> Subject: Same routine, a lot of the same movements. Pretty much the same dance. If a video comes out of it, I will post it and we can compare it to the original. It does happen. I am not sure which one was the mother or daughter, but either Marla or Marlene Wynne, Miss PA 1990, performed the same ventriloquism routine as 4th runner-up Miss AZ 1975. And Laura Kaeppeler performed the same talent as her Miss Wisconsin predecessor, Mary Louise Kurey. Both won preliminary talent, although Mary Louise was a much better singer and performer.

[> Subject: Red carpet 3-no gowns really blew me away. IN was good in gown, but her answer she struggled a bit. AL had a good answer, NJ asked about immigration. She said she didn't have an answer but not in a bad way, just a humble way. I appreciate a titleholder saying that. The rest she bumbled a bit.

[> [> Subject: It's hard to make predictions because I didn't see everyone, especially in SII. Of the ones I have seen, I would say NV, maybe IN a double prelim winner. Unless someone totally blew it out of the water in the second talent group we missed I say it is GA for the talent win.

We might see a winner this year who didn’t win a preliminary. Wouldn’t surprise me.
[> [> Subject: Yes, that very well could be. Since Mallory's win there have been more non-preliminary winners than preliminary winners. And I think it will eventually happen under this format. I would like to see CA's talent because she has been strong across the board so far. MA fell off my turnip truck tonight.
