This photo was published on 24th July 1959, the day of the final night. Miss Thailand, Sodsai Vanijvadhana, 22-year-old, displays her trophy and a big smile at Long Beach, California. Thursday night after she was named Miss Friendship. The girl named to the honour is selected by her fellow competitors. Sodsai, who is from Bangkok, is an exchange student at UCLA. She says her ambition is to be a good actress and singer.
