 Miss Universe 1959. Interesting Facts 9.

Akiko Kojima, a 22-year-old high-fashion Tokyo model who supports her widowed mother, won the title of Miss Universe 1959 Friday night before 4,500 cheering spectators in the ocean-front Municipal Auditorium here.

She lives in Tokyo with her 19-year-old brother, Takao, whom she hopes to send through college with her earnings from the contest.

She has black hair and eyes, stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighs 120 pounds and measures 37-23-38.
