Miss World 1953. Photo 2.

This photo was published on 6th June, four months before the final night. Five judges sought to pick this year’s Miss Norway. They judged six contestants and narrowed the field down to two, both lovely “typical Norwegian blondes.” Finally, the choice fell on 22-year-old Miss Synnove Gulbrandsen (left) of Oslo who participated in Miss Universe 1953. First to give her a congratulatory big hug and kiss was the runner-up – her identical twin sister Solveig (right) who will participate in Miss World 1953.
