He smirked as Des spoke, leave it to the girl to not break the ice, but shatter it to a million pieces. He wasn't about to let her drive off with this guy, but if the man was trusting enough to allow her to take the car for a spin on her own, he wouldn't fight her over that. He noticed the odd look that swept over the strangers face when he'd introduced them. An odd reaction, but he'd seen weirder things in his life. His brows knit as the man spoke, it was a bit creepy when people said shit like that. He let his hand fall back to his side as the stranger continued to talk, his words making sense in and of themselves, but his meaning was lost. It was a little creepy, like the guy had been stalking him or was some kind of fan... Well now he had some idea how famous people felt. Elden went perfectly still as the words finally left the mans lips. He was so still it was like he wasn't breathing, though he wasn't holding his breath. For a sniper, that stillness was the equivalent of shaking with rage. His gaze went hard and he simply stared at the stranger for a long moment. Now that he thought about it, the man did bear a striking resemblance to his father, older obviously, but the build was the same and the car fit... He finally took a deep breath and rolled his shoulders slightly, letting that stillness that had been the death of many, many people slip away. He stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jacket and settled back on his heels, relaxing his body posture to keep himself from giving this fool, his father, a hard uppercut to the jaw. "You disappeared without a word. Mom figured you'd finally gotten yourself killed..." After two years they had written him off and moved on. Not that it had been so cut and dry for his mother, but she'd held herself together for both their sake. "You'd better start explaining.... " He wouldn't threaten, there was no point. Either he had a good reason for doing what he'd done, or he didn't... Either way, El didn't owe this man shit anymore. And if he didn't like the reasons behind his fathers disappearance... Hell he didn't know what he'd do. He'd wanted this so badly for so many years, and now he'd finally moved on and here the man was... |
