There was no doubt about it, Lezedi was an old pro at this. He was a good conversationalist (Natasha herself was not too shabby either) and his little old-fashioned gestures were not lost on her. She was frankly burning up with curiosity about this elegant stranger who had appeared so suddenly with a dinner invitation of all things. He had brought her to this restaurant, a place that clearly had real history and character, which she noted appreciatively. She loved old buildings. And to top it all off, he walked in like he owned the place. She was somewhat amused by this. Maybe he did own the place? The restaurant's staff seemed to respond with a new attentiveness at his arrival, though maybe she was imagining this. Focus, Natasha! She drew her eyes, which had been taking in the entire room, back to Lezedi, not an unpleasant task, because he was quite nice to look at.
The waitress arrived, and suddenly a menu was before her. She scanned it quickly. "I'll have the spinach salad, please," she said to the waitress and handed her back the menu. Lezedi hadn't even needed to look at it. Was he perhaps a regular? She glanced up at him and saw him watching her with a smile. It made her conscious of how disheveled she felt. Her hair was nearly dry by this point. Different from her usual silken curls, the salty ocean water had made them dry into beachy waves that haloed somewhat wildly around her face. Plus it was tangled, a fact that irked her more than it should have. "I promise I clean up well," she joked, attempting to casually arrange her hair in a manner that would hopefully make it more presentable.
