The times I opted to be spanked was when the grounding would have meant me missing playing in a football match for my team. At the time this meant more to me than anything so I felt that I had to take the spanking however bad it was rather than miss the match and let my team mates down. Also I think my dad was always keen to see that I was not getting off lightly and made sure he gave me a extra good spanking. Painful as the spankings were I did feel they were worth it.
