Subject: Yes, Miss Illinois does need to rebuild the program from scratch, and I think that we are all hoping that it can be done after years of bad leadership. However, to act as though the last 9 were unworthy because only two made the cut is one of the dumbest things I've read on this board. They all did a fantastic job as titleholders, despite the daily drama that they had to deal with just to be Miss Illinois. Many had the potential to do well, but who knows what went on that may have affected their preparation. Amalia was notorious for talking badly about her own contestant to Miss America before they even got to nationals. We also have to accept that the national organization has changed immensely in the last 9 years.

In reply to: 's message, "Illinois managed to eek out two top tens in the past 9 years, and that's it. The days of Illinois being a competitive state need to be rebuilt from scratch. Crystal isn't any worse than some of the other titleholders that have been sent to Miss America over the past 9 years, and I say that as someone who's seen them all. She may not be your choice for Miss illinois, but so what? Give it a rest. And as for all of those "lies and deep dark secrets" I do not accept something posted on a voy board as proof. When you provide substantiated proof via a legit venue, then (and only then) will I take them seriously. The comment about female Jesus is right on the mark." on 19:38:59 09/03/15 Thu

Oh please. Dont even try to compare her to the others. They had educations in progress with goal expectations of life. They traveled the state alone and made contacts to improve the program and they deemed a professional appearance and represented the state with poise. (NT)No name22:15:44 09/05/15 Sat
