First, I think you're making a lot of assumptions regarding the closeness of any relationships that existed and also regarding what they knew. Second, how they handled things is up to them, not you. They literally owe you no explanation for their choices. Third, I repeat, formers will always have their titles. Scott will obviously not. This is comparing apples and oranges.
