| Subject: It's clear that the journalist was biased against the organization and against pageant girls. And while I have no doubt that the year is exhausting, Betty is Miss America. That's her job. Whine and complain to your friends or family, but not to a journalist. She gave the journalist exactly what she wanted and every pageant girl who wants to be taken seriously, who would love the opportunity to be Miss America, ought to be a little aggravated with Betty. There are any number of qualified women who probably would have enjoyed the opportunity instead-Hannah Roberts, Kelley Johnson, April Nelson and Meg McGuffin come to mind. Betty's comments were made without giving thought to how they impacted anyone else, and that's just not acceptable when you're Miss America being interviewed by a journalist. | |

It is very helpful at understanding the context of Betty's actual comments, which appear to be different from the representations in the article." on 22:47:08 08/17/16 Wed [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
