Subject: If the final teen's parents wanted to purchase her crown and sash she too could compete at "state". She could be appointed just as the others were and and I would be very surprised if the Winters did not offer her that opportunity.

I need to add that I was told by people who were there that parents of other contestants went directly up to the Winters' to complain that the excluded teen deserved one of the crowns. Apparently, the Winters' stated there was nothing they could do about that. Bull! I don't know this family, but maybe they couldn't afford to "purchase" their daughter a title, not to mention that purchasing a title shouldn't really be what this program is about in the first place. Whether the Winters offered them the opportunity or they did not, it was in poor taste to crown the others publicly at that time, not only for the 4th competitor's sake, but also for the sake of the actual winner.
