I have to comment on this subject. I have had ex-police cars since 1978. I have had many old police cars. Some while the agency I bought them from still was using them. Number of times I have been stopped? Once! By the officer who was assigned to the car I had bought, and he wanted to give me some info on the car! I disagree with the statement that the cars less than 25 years old should not be allowed to show their car in a show. There are alot of 10-15 year old cars out there that have been RESTORED, like my present vehicle. It is a daily driver, the only equipment on the car when not shown in a car show is a red light on the dash for use with my Fire Dept. My car when I bought it, was in such sad shape that the Fire Dept. sold me the car for $10.00. It was not running, and a total mess inside. The lightbar they left on it was worth more than what i paid for the car. The car that Dave restored was in better shape than my car. We all would love to have a 25 year old car to restore and show. But alot of people don't have the money or time to look for one. If I stumbled across one locally like Daves, I would love to have it. My car is a 1991 Crown Vic. and they are already becoming hard to find in this area. I do not agree with limiting who is allowed to show their car in a show, just because of how old the car is. I have even showed my car in custom car shows and they welcomed it. I got more "stop and look" traffic than some of the customs. My two cents....Tom W.
