Author: Noni
Subject: My night was invaded by light much too bright to ignore, the light that hides within even me.
In reply to: Atumi and Tew 's message, "And why would you forsake the cool blackness for the burning glare of daylight?" on 14:16:48 07/27/03 Sun

Tew's words ringing encouragingly in her mind, Noni turns to face the master. Certainly she is perceptive enough to notice Atumi's glance at her singed paws. With a respectful nod and a shaky "Botsa ze cha, mri'qua..." to the black who now shares her branch, she begins to explain, golden eyes wide and earnest. Angst and anger are pulled back, deep into her heart where they will continue to fester. It tests the limit of her courage to face such a personage, but her desire for learning shows itself and gives her strength.
"I was just lying by the river, and I'm still not entirely sure what I did. I was looking at my claws, and this light about the color of my eyes seemed to... seep out of them, for lack of a better word. I found I could move it with my mind or with my paws, but it just kept getting brighter and brighter... Then it exploded. That's what resulted in the damage..." She holds up a forehand to underscore her point, though he has clearly already seen what happened. "And some of those trees will never be the same. I felt it again back there, when I was angry, but I managed to not let it release itself. That almost hurt, though..."
Before the admonishment that she feels is sure to come, she adds, "I know it was foolish of me to try manipulating it without knowing what I was doing. But if I can be taught, I would very much like to know, especially how to control its power so it doesn't injure me again."
