That's interesting too! GUSTAV SCHAFFRATH is at IMDb (above) as ROGER/Baby in "Sailors Beware" with reference to the 1930 Census LAMPY MEIER cites. Kind of takes away the "exclusivity" of ANM.
ANM has HARRY EARLES in the film.

If you check the above March 1923 ship's passenger list, you'll find that GUS is age 17 and exactly 3' tall.
Brother WILHELM was 27 and 3'2".
Sister IDA was 14 and 3'3".
GUSTAVE & IDA were born in Monchsee, Germany.
WILHELM was born in Karlsmarkt, Germany.
IDA had brown eyes and brown hair.
Both boys had blue eyes and blond hair.
All had fair complexions.
The HERMAN KLINKHART that LAMPY mentioned was their manager. He managed an act with 14 midgets.
The AL G. BARNES Circus was winter quartered in Culver City, CA not far from the ROACH Studio.


I didn't find GUS SCHIRRFFRAGTS at IMDb.

I found it interesting that on the same 1923 ship with the "dwarfs" were German giant husband and wife, ANTON (7'6") and DORA (7'4") SYRE and their 1 year old baby, RUTH (no height given). They were bound for Coney Island,
NY.

Also, JOHN AASEN was with the AL G. BARNES Circus with the SCHAFFRATHs for that 1923 season.

I have snipped photos (Circus) for Lordheath. I don't know how to post them here.
