Of all the credits on Lincoln Stedman's page, I believe THE HUG BUG is the only actual correct credit. I'm pretty sure all the rest are actually supposed to be Roy Brooks. In fact, some of the credits -- specifically, ONE TERRIBLE DAY, DOGS OF WAR!, LODGE NIGHT, and NO NOISE -- are already in their correct place on Roy's page, in addition to remaining incorrectly listed on Lincoln's page.

The major giveaway is the height: Roy towered at about 6'5" (splitting the difference between his two draft cards), while Lincoln was no taller than six feet. In all the instances I've seen (including THE SLEUTH and THE SMILE WINS, the latter of which I have something else on to inform you about soon), the actor is definitely closer in height to big Roy than Lincoln. I haven't seen THE ANVIL CHORUS, and I haven't seen JAILED AND BAILED in a long time, but I'm willing to bet those are both Roy instead of Lincoln, given the "track record" of some of the other credits.

So, thanks to THE HUG BUG, Lincoln stays, but his credit count and place in the Most Credits list are both deeply affected.

Here’s a fun continuity error. In Charley Chase's Thundering Tenors, just before Lillian Elliot rushes out of the dining room into the kitchen, we see Gordon Douglas standing at the dining table. After she walks through the doorway into the kitchen we see Gordon Douglas already standing in the kitchen.

It was recently brought to my attention that SAMMY BROOKS may have appeared briefly in the Mabel Normand short Anything Once! (1927). However, this scene in question only shows a short man from the side/back and in my opinion this isn't enough for me to commit myself to adding him to the site.
I pride myself and the integrity of my site/work on accuracy and want to be sure. Anybody have an opinion on this? Feel free to share.

First, I wanted to point out that on Snub Pollard's page, you have WHY MARRY? in the space that should be occupied by THE GREEN CAT, which is otherwise missing from his filmography (a mere replacement that doesn't affect his credit count). WHY MARRY? appears to have been an alternate title for FRIEND HUSBAND, a film which was released over a year later.

And with regards to DOG HEAVEN, you have "Clarabelle" mis-listed as the character for both Charles Lloyd and Chester Bachman. Also, Clarence Morehouse does indeed have a screenshot for this film, as seen on his page.

Just noticed on Jobyna's page that WET WEATHER is included twice -- the first instance, between THE TRUTH JUGGLER and ROUGH ON ROMEO needs to be removed. The duplicate also appears to have been included in her count, so that affects it.

She is also missing DOGS OF WAR! from her page, and she is not in BETWEEN MEALS nor is she in SOFT PEDAL; I've never seen DON'T BUTT IN, but considering Ethel Broadhurst's presence and that it was filmed before Jobyna's earliest credits, I find it unlikely.

So when all is considered:
47 - 3 (WEATHER duplicate, MEALS, PEDAL) + 1 (DOGS) = 45

And if she is indeed not in DON'T BUTT IN, that knocks it down to 44.

Lastly, her link for TOUCH ALL THE BASES needs to be updated to the correct one.

I also see, Dave, that you have the same casting sheet posted, probably from the same source. But what grabbed my attention in its list of actors is the name of "TURPIN" and, surely old cross-eyed Ben. But it looks like he never made the 'cut' afterall. How I would have loved it if he did. Will have to look at my old notes to see what else Turpin could have been doing to maybe prevent him from appearing in this one (maybe his asking wage). Three new names, courtesy of Bob Demoss of theluckycorner.com. No biographical info as of yet.

1. "Powder-Puff," the older Black kid in THE SUN DOWN LIMITED and EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF (both 1924) was played by Fleming Miller, per the studio payroll ledgers. The ledgers sometimes refer to him as Kid Miller.

2. Edward Lewis played Buckwheat's kid brother "Big Shot" in five of the MGM Gang shorts - 1-2-3 GO! (1941), HELPING HANDS (1941), GOING TO PRESS (1942), UNEXPECTED RICHES (1942) and BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, JR. (1943). His name was confirmed by a 1941 newspaper article:

"'1-2-3 GO!', an Our Gang comedy emphasizing the importance of careful street crossing as indicated here by 'Buckwheat' Thomas scolding of his careless screen brother, young Edward Lewis, will be shown at Loew's tomorrow through July 16 in cooperation with New Rochelle Safety Council's celebration of Child Safety Week beginning Saturday."

3. The Fred Astaire impersonator in CALLING ALL KIDS (1943) is Dickie Love, a regular in Universal Pictures musicals, and not David Polonsky, as was previously believed. Love's name is mentioned in a January 23, 1943 issue of The Pittsburgh Gazette:

"With studios going all out for all-star casts, M-G-M has gathered an assemblage of important 'names' for the Our Gang musical, 'Calling All Kids.' The 'stars' and their youthful counterparts include 'Eleanore Powell' - Jackie Horner; 'Fred Astaire' - Dickie Love; 'Judy Garland' - Marlene Kinghorn; 'Carmen Miranda' - Janet Burston; 'Rochester' - Buckwheat Thomas, and 'Virginia O'Brien' - Marlene Mains."

Is it at all worth mentioning the cast of "Hopping Off" on the page for "Wild Babies"? What do you think, Dave?

Either way you decide to go, I do believe the jungle queen is supposed to be Polish-born actress Rene Mandel - the star of 1932's "Vampyr."

Her name is mentioned in publicity material for "Hopping Off." But someone give their thoughts just to be safe.

In "Wild Babies," it's quite obvious she's being played by a double (with the least threatening voice imaginable) in the new scenes with Mickey Daniels and Grady Sutton.

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0541675/?ref_=nm_mv_close

https://www.google.com/search?q=rena+mandel&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjN78Gexfj_AhWTj4kEHTzRDDgQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=rena+mandel&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQAzIECCMQJzIHCAAQGBCABFAAWABgwgJoAHAAeACAAVSIAVSSAQExmAEAqgELZ3dzLXdpei1pbWfAAQE&sclient=img&ei=oOSlZM2fGJOfptQPvKKzwAM&bih=865&biw=930

Otherwise, I know David Rollins and Mary Kornman costarred. That first photo in the stills section on the "Wild Babies" page ought to be down in the "Hopping Off" section.

In those crowd photos, we have Billy Gilbert, Lyle Tayo, and isn't that Frank Terry in the newsboys' cap? I think I see Grace Woods in the back of the crowd. I assume the shorter fellow is Sammy Brooks.

Regarding the Tommy Atkins / Jerry Bensmiller debate, here are some factors that make me quite confident Tommy Atkins wasn't in "Bouncing Babies" or "A Tough Winter."

1. His name doesn't appear anywhere on the studio payroll ledgers. But Jerry's does, and specifically for just the weeks when "Bouncing Babies" and "A Tough Winter" were shot. (credit to Bob Demoss for that info)

2. Tommy would have been old enough to walk by the time of "Bouncing Babies." The tyke we see in that film is still crawling around.

3. We now have Jerry's personal info (credit to Jarvis). Jerry was born August 22, 1928, making him just under a year old at the time "Bouncing Babies" was being filmed. He and his parents were the only Bensmillers living in the L.A. County area in the late 1920s. He died in 1950 in a vehicle collision in Pittsburgh, only a year after having gotten married.

https://www.lordheath.com/menu1_277.html

Madge Kirby was a popular 20 year-old stage actress when she unexpectedly married her 30
year-old very successful stage manager, Maurice B. Kirby (1875-1911). He came from a prominent, wealthy family and graduated college as a star football player who went into journalism, playwriting, and stage production. Their whirlwind marriage, after a substantial engagement, surprised everyone and was described by newspapers like something out of a Mack Sennett comedy. Their only child, Audrey, was born in 1908 (d.2002).

In March of 1911, Maurice was mugged at a subway entrance and fell down a flight of stairs sustaining severe
injuries and died in a hospital a few days later without gaining consciousness nor telling what had happened. Early reports were that the 35 year-old former football star had tripped and fell down the subway stairs. There were no
witnesses.

After a period of mourning, Madge made a very successful stage comeback and moved with her daughter to CA
and began her successful stage and film career. About 1923, she married Edward F. Leuscher (1893-1952) who was a divorced, prominent wealthy rancher in Fresno, CA. In the 1930's & '40's he received State and Federal appointments to agricultural commissions.

In 1927, by some miracle, daughter Audrey survived a horrific head-on automobile collision,
as a passenger, virtually unscathed! Between 1942 & '47, Madge and Edward were divorced.
He remarried and died in 1952 as a potato farmer. Madge didn't remarry before her death four
years later.

Hi All. I just watched a lousy print of Will Rogers' "Going To Congress" and wanted to correct and add a couple things. The big guy in the smoking car is not Marvin Loback, it's Martin Wolfkeil under the make-up. And the guy on the right in the unidentified 1 & 2 politicians pic is Donald Maines. And wanted to add Sam Lufkin who's in at the films beginning as a nominator, standing by the table who suggests 'Lem Trent.' And a few minutes later inside the country store, seated next to Will Rogers a fellow asks: "Alfalfa, Do you think we will ever recognize Russia?" That's Paddy McQuire in probably his last film appearance before he died. That's all for now. Maybe I'll go watch another film that's available. Thanks, Dave! :-) SteveR

I got to know Nan’s sister Mickie a bit shortly before she passed away. Mickie insisted that “Forgotten Babies” was actually directed by their dad, despite Bob F. getting the credit. Studio documentation seems to back this up - well, more specifically, that he directed most of it. Bob F. did the rest, I’m guessing. She told me that this was an ongoing issue between the two Bob McGowans - the uncle taking credit for shorts his nephew helmed. They would often share duties during the late silent run too.

Another "Our Gang" passing. We're down to just Sidney "Woim" Kibrick and a handful of bit players.

Another name to add - Marvin Stephens is the main kid that Charley Chase interacts with in "Midsummer Mush."

David Lord Heath:

The child in blackface you have identified as Tommy Bond in SPANKY (1932) looks to me like the Unidentified cast member in READIN' AND WRITIN' (1932) you have identified as Bobbie, who is the kid that exclaims to Miss Crabtree "I don't think you can do it!" Bobbie's hairdo is quite similar to Tommy Bond's Buster Brown cut, but when I look at the eyes of the child in blackface, I see Bobbie, not Tommy Bond.

According to "The Lucky Corner" website notes for SPANKY, Tommy Bond remembered being five-and-a-half when he moved to California and didn't enter into his long-term contract until late in 1932.

As for the boy who comes on the stage to tell the audience there's a baby throwing money out a window, who they presume Maltin & Bann went by in identifying Tommy Bond in SPANKY, it's obvious to me he is somebody else altogether, and in my opinion, looks nothing like Tommy Bond.

Here's a link to the appropriate SPANKY entry:

I noticed recently that Jack O'Brien's credit count was updated to 67 on the Top 200+ page (and I believe it was on the home page as well), but on his own page it's at 66. I counted the credits currently on his page, and I got 66.

On the page for LOVE PAINS, I see you reinstated the unidentified "Party guest #6." We've already ID'd him as Gordon Douglas. (Not sure who "Party guest #7" is, but he's also unID #2 in THE KNOCKOUT.)

Speaking of Gordon Douglas, I was watching AIR FRIGHT recently, and upon closer inspection, it hit me that that's actually Gordon as the pilot currently ID'd as Buddy Roosevelt (an ID I've never really agreed with).

The safe in the mirror gag in Midnight and Noses which is listed under "Favorite Bit" is actually lifted from Stan Laurel's Somewhere in Wrong in which he appeared for Joe Rock earlier that year. Stan directed Midnight and Noses, so he must have thought highly of the gag to bring it to a Hal Roach film. I don't know if that will be deemed a worthy note to add to the film's page, but I thought I'd mention it.

RHAPSODY IN BREW is chronologically misplaced on Sam Lufkin and Sydney Jarvis' pages. HIS SILENT RACKET has yet to be added to Sam's page as well.

THE BIG TOWN has yet to be added to Jack O'Brien's page, and is also missing from Patrick Kelly's page. On that film's own page, Elizabeth Mackey's link goes to Lyle Tayo's page.

On the front page under January 7, you mislist LUKE AND THE BANGTAILS (or BANG-TAILS?) as LUKE AND THE BAIL-TAILS.

I found this photo in the August 5, 1922 issue of Exhibitors Herald showing Paul Parrott in a Hal Roach short titled "Scatter Your Shots" and that film doesn't exist. Anyone know what film the pic is from?

ONE OF THE FAMILY:
"Man at station" looks like Charles Meakin, and the taller of the two remaining would-be chauffeurs appears to be Al Ochs.

ALL WOOL:
The guy at the left is Al Ochs again.
After finding a video online and doing some comparisons, I'm 100% positive the cross-eyed man is The Little Nemesis himself, Charlie Hall.

SPEAKIN' OF MEAKIN... (heh):
The HLE lists Charles Meakin in the cast of NOW OR NEVER, which needs to be added to his page.

Both Charley and Thelma's pages link to the wrong STEPPING OUT.

Don't forget to add Charley Lloyd's LEAPING LOVE credit to his page. That makes his total 71.

Leona Anderson was not only Broncho Billy's sister and shared frames with Stan Laurel, she was one hell of a singer.

Superior vocals with excellent music production, give her a listen.

I didn't see Harry Bowen either.

I didn't see Ham Kinsey at the party, BUT... look verrrry closely at "Charley" when he bursts through the door at the end...
