The Harry Lowe Jr. cited above was born in the city of Calexico in Imperial County, CA, but I have questions about his identification. The dates for him are correct.
I did not find filming dates for "Washee Ironee" at any of the usual sources. Theluckycorner.com doesn't actually identify the actor who is the Chinese kid from the laundry and mentions a possible "Yun or Yen Wong" from the name of the laundry shop per Maltin and Bann.
Harry Lowe Jr... was about 3 years old in 1934.
Spanky McFarland was about 6 years old in 1934.
Harry Lowe Jr....was 4'3" tall at age 10. (Ship Passenger).
Spanky McFarland was 5'2" tall at age 18. (Draft Card).
Harry Lowe Jr. had an older brother, Herbert, born 31 July 1928 who would have been about 6 yrs old in 1934 and was 4'10" at age 13. (same parents).
Also living in Calexico at the same time was Harry's cousin, I think, a son of Albert Lowe Sr., Harry's uncle. Albert Lowe Jr. was 7 or 8 yrs old in 1934, depending on the filming dates (b.Sep 1926): age 18 height was 5'8".
I mention Albert Lowe Jr. because he and his sister, Evelyn, were semi-professional dancer/singers who performed for several years (as kids) at public and private events. They traveled some, giving performances. It is about 250 miles from Calexico to Los Angeles.
Questions:
Is 3+ year-old Harry Lowe Jr. (submitted above) the "Chinese Kid" in "Washee Ironee"?
Is it his 6 year-old brother, Herbert Lowe?
Is it his 8 year-old cousin, Albert Lowe Jr.?
Is it another Asian "kid" named Yen or Yun Wong?
