(I capitalized it because it has 2 "r"'s in the spelling which many non-Californians miss.) His CA Birth Index says "San Bernardino". Bob Callahan, 87, died peacefully at his San Luis Obispo home on Sunday, March 22, 2015. By his side was his wife, Pat Callahan, and other family members. He was born in February, 1928, in Fontana, Calif. His parents and five older siblings moved to Los Angeles. Bob, in his younger years, tried his luck at acting, playing small parts in movies of the 1940s such as Little Rascals, Mark Twain, and a few with Mickey Rooney. Working... There was a good possibility that "Bobby Callahan" could be the son of deceased (1937) Roach actor "Robert Callahan". I "eliminated" him, even tho there were a lot of similarities in addition to the name. There was little more than 1 year difference in their ages (he born in Chicago 24 Nov 1926 and died 1962 in LA). He was originally a "Jr.", with his Dad's middle name "Louis", but later started using "Kort", his Mom's maiden name. At the time of Robert Sr.'s death, he and his wife Ruth were already divorced.
