 Comparing this to MAGAZINE COOKING, I do believe the Stan-lookalike tormentor at the right of the first unID screenshot is Bert Bucher as "Bill Green."

Going by the trade magazine page linked below, Don Ferrando as "Tom Brown" would be the other tormentor, and I assume Roy Byron as "Sport Regan" is the tough man at far right of the unIDs (he was 5'11" and stout, per his draft cards).

Here's a contemporary synopsis, which mentions an additional piece of ending that, reading your summary, may not be in the version you reviewed:
