Shadow shrugged to Elly. [My mother and step-father were transferring here. They and my little half-sister, Angelline, died in 'the storm'. I guess I just never wanted to see my father again, so I was the only one to complete the journey here.]

That's when B'nederra came...

Cara's face turned about seventy different shades of red. "Dad!" she moaned, looking at the others with a slightly embarrassed look. "You can't just drop in like this! I'm with my friends."

While Cara was busy being a typical teenage girl, Shadow signed to Elly.
[This is bronzerider B'nederra, B-'-N-E-D-E-R-R-A, rider of bronze Kierth, K-I-E-R-T-H. He's Cara's dad.]

Graythorn sighed. "I just..." he swallowed. "I just wish Korea--K'rea--didn't have to impress. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of him, but... I just wish..." Tears formed in his eyes again, but he waved Faini away when she tried to comfort him.

Cara cleared her throat. "Umm... Dad? These are my newest friends, Salty, his sister Elly, and Terent. But... why are you over here? You usually sit with one of your friends, like R'ko or something."
