Subject: Mother's mortality in Papua New Guinea-comparision with AUS & NZ

We know that PNG has a poor record of infant health care, in decline since independence. The same is true for mothers and how many die in childbirth.

Go to the following web site and see jsut how bad it is in comparison with Australia nad New Zealand (which has a sizeable indigenous Maori population):

Australia: 9 mothers die per 100,000 live births
New Zealand: 25 mothers die per 100,000 live births
Papua NEw Guinea: 930 mothers die per 100,000 live births
